Matsumoto Precision Inc., a renowned precision machine parts processing company based in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, is implementing SAP Sustainability Footprint Management to provide its business partners with detailed information on the CO2 emissions associated with each product they manufacture.

Matsumoto Precision’s commitment to sustainability is evident in their vision of running “The Sustainable Factory,” which includes initiatives such as achieving self-sufficiency in electricity through solar power and purchasing electricity with non-fossil certificates. The adoption of SAP Sustainability Footprint Management is a critical component of this vision, enabling the company to record, report, and act on CO2 emissions on a per-product basis.

In recent years, the global focus on environmental sustainability has increased, with governments, businesses, and consumers all recognizing the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change. This has also put pressure on companies to adapt their practices and find ways to minimize their environmental impact.

Matsumoto Precision’s decision to implement SAP Sustainability Footprint Management is a response to this growing demand for sustainable business practices. By partnering with Accenture, a leading global professional services company, Matsumoto Precision has been able to leverage the expertise and resources needed to successfully integrate this solution into their operations.

Leveraging Technology for Sustainable Growth

Furthermore, the implementation of SAP Sustainability Footprint Management at Matsumoto Precision is part of a larger initiative called the Connected Manufacturing Enterprise (CME) platform. Developed by SAP Japan and Accenture, this cloud-based service also aims to improve the productivity of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies by standardizing their business systems.

The CME platform incorporates a regional ERP platform consisting of various templates developed by Accenture based on SAP S/4HANA. By adopting this platform in April 2021, Matsumoto Precision was able to standardize its business processes, resulting in a 30% improvement in productivity and faster management decision-making.

The integration of SAP Sustainability Footprint Management into the CME platform has further enhanced Matsumoto Precision’s capabilities. The solution calculates CO2 emissions for every product based on the individual manufacturing performance information already available in SAP S/4HANA. This has enabled the company to provide its business partners with detailed information on the environmental impact of each product they purchase.

Adopting SAP Sustainability Footprint Management

Toshitada Matsumoto, President and Representative Director of Matsumoto Precision Co., emphasized the importance of this project, stating that it was realized in a short period of time through the use of SAP S/4HANA, which helped to standardize operations from production to procurement to sales. He expressed the company’s desire to work with the entire value chain in Japan, including small, medium, and large enterprises, to enhance the overall competitiveness of the country.

Hirofumi Suzuki, President and Managing Director of SAP Japan, commended Matsumoto Precision for adding value and differentiating their products by promptly providing information on CO2 emissions at the product level. He expressed SAP’s pride in supporting Matsumoto Precision on its green transformation journey, ultimately improving both the environment and society.

Joichi Ebihara, Sustainability Group Japan Lead at Accenture Japan, highlighted the importance of collaboration between companies and across enterprises in achieving sustainability goals. He expressed hope that the collaboration between Accenture and SAP can serve as an example to others in the region and around the world.

The successful implementation of this solution, in partnership with Accenture and SAP Japan, demonstrates the power of collaboration in driving sustainable growth. As more companies follow Matsumoto Precision’s lead, the manufacturing industry as a whole can make significant progress towards reducing its environmental impact and creating a more sustainable future.

Matsumoto Precision’s commitment to running “The Sustainable Factory” serves as an inspiration to other businesses, showcasing the potential for companies to thrive while prioritizing environmental sustainability. By embracing innovative solutions like SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, manufacturers can not only improve their own operations but also contribute to the global effort to combat climate change.

Indonesian companies are increasingly investing in sustainable practices, not just as a moral or environmental decision but as a cornerstone for enhancing profitability and competitiveness. SAP Insights reveals this growing trend, highlighting how Indonesian organizations are integrating sustainability into their core business strategies.

Gina McNamara, Regional Chief Financial Officer at SAP Asia Pacific and Japan (SAP APJ), emphasizes the growing recognition among businesses that sustainability and financial performance are closely interconnected. Indonesian businesses, in particular, are becoming acutely aware of this link. A recent study by SAP shows an overwhelming majority of Indonesian companies acknowledging a moderate to strong relationship between their sustainability efforts and organizational profitability (90%) and competitiveness (91%). These figures notably surpass the average across Asia Pacific and Japan, indicating a unique and forward-thinking approach by Indonesian enterprises.

Investing in Sustainability: A Strategic Move for Indonesian Businesses

Reflecting on this paradigm shift, the investment trends in Indonesia are telling. With 66% of businesses planning to increase their sustainability investments in the next three years, it’s evident that Indonesian organizations are not just paying lip service to sustainability; they are actively redirecting resources to foster sustainable practices. This trend is not just a response to environmental concerns but a strategic move to strengthen their market position and financial performance.

The SAP study, encompassing responses from 250 Indonesian professionals well-versed in their organization’s sustainability objectives, sheds light on how sustainability strategies are directly contributing to business growth. An impressive 93% of businesses reported a positive impact on revenue or profit growth due to sustainability strategies, while 92% observed enhanced efficiency in business processes. These figures underscore the tangible benefits that sustainability brings to the table, transcending the traditional view of it being a cost center.

SAP Insights Study Reveals Challenges to Environmental Strategy Implementation

Despite the optimistic outlook, challenges persist. The most significant barrier for Indonesian companies is the development of a comprehensive environmental impact strategy, a hurdle for 42% of businesses. This concern surpasses the global average, highlighting the unique challenges faced by Indonesian organizations. Other issues include the after-effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, doubts about measuring environmental impact, and aligning potential actions with organizational strategy.

The key to overcoming these challenges lies in effectively utilizing sustainability data. Indonesian businesses are increasingly satisfied with the quality of their sustainability data, with satisfaction rates rising to 40%, a 10-point increase from the previous year. This data, however, needs to be accurate, granular, and integrated with financial data to inform sound business decisions.

Indonesian businesses are not just focusing internally but are also demanding sustainability data from their suppliers and partners. This holistic approach is critical in creating a sustainable ecosystem, driving not only individual company growth but also contributing to broader environmental and societal goals.

The Role of Technology Partners in Driving Sustainable Growth

Gina McNamara concludes by highlighting the importance of technology partners like SAP in this journey towards sustainability. By providing tools and insights to accurately measure and act on sustainability data, technology partners are indispensable in helping businesses navigate the complexities of sustainable practices. This collaboration is essential for Indonesian companies to fully realize the potential of sustainability in driving competitiveness, profit, and revenue.

The SAP Insights report illuminates a crucial trend in the Indonesian business sector: sustainability is now a pivotal element in shaping business strategies, driving growth, and enhancing competitiveness. As companies continue to navigate this landscape, the role of accurate data and strategic partnerships becomes increasingly vital in ensuring that sustainability is not just a goal but a fundamental driver of business success.

In a world where technology intersects every facet of life, the food industry is no exception. India’s premier food and agri-tech conglomerate, WayCool Foods, has taken a giant stride in sustainability powered by digital tools. SAP Analytics, a state-of-the-art platform, has been pivotal in this transformation.

WayCool Foods is a prime example of how businesses are blending innovation with environmental responsibility. Established in 2015, the company boasts popular consumer brands such as Madhuram, Kitchenji, L’exotique, Dezi Fresh, and Freshey’s.

True to its name, the company has been “way cool” in its approach to sustainability. Harnessing green energy from rooftop solar installations and implementing water treatment and reuse systems are just a few feats from its impressive portfolio. These green initiatives have not only curtailed 120 tons of carbon emissions but have also conserved nearly 1,980 KL of fresh water. The cherry on the cake? Monetary savings that amounted to a substantial $12,500 in FY2022-23.

What’s even more commendable is the company’s agility in maintaining a food loss of merely 2% within its supply chain, a number that outperforms the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) estimate of 14.7%. The drive doesn’t stop here. WayCool has electrified a significant 22% of its last-mile delivery fleet, translating to 1.2 million kilometers and cutting down a staggering 289 tons of logistic carbon emissions. The bar is set high with a goal to transition to a fully electric delivery fleet by 2030.

According to Srinidhi S. Rao, WayCool’s Head of ESG, the company’s ethos lies in embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices seamlessly across all its business operations.

Digital Transformation: The SAP Analytics Revolution

Stepping into the digital era, WayCool embarked on a transformative journey, steering its sustainability aspirations with SAP Analytics. The core of this transformation is an environmental dashboard, a melting pot that consolidates data from a gamut of sources, ranging from IoT devices to SAP’s own enterprise resource planning system.

This dashboard is no ordinary tool; it’s a powerhouse of insights. By converting raw data into actionable knowledge, it grants a 360-degree view of several sustainability indicators – be it clean energy metrics, waste management statistics, or water efficiency numbers. With an impressive 90% accuracy rate, the dashboard also offers an exhaustive measurement of greenhouse gas emissions, enabling the company to monitor, compare, and optimize its sustainability metrics.

In the words of Mr. Rao, this analytics dashboard amplifies the tangible impacts of WayCool’s environment-centric initiatives. Moreover, the real-time data fostered by this tool fortifies decision-making processes, proving that environment-friendly measures can be simultaneously profit-driven.

The SAP Seal of Approval

Their trailblazing efforts in the domain of sustainability didn’t go unnoticed. At the 2022 SAP ACE Awards, WayCool Foods emerged victorious in the ‘Sustainability Champion’ category. Organized by INDUS, the SAP India User Group, these accolades shine a light on organizations revolutionizing the tech landscape. WayCool’s victory was a testament to its commitment to aligning business growth with ecological welfare.

Conclusively, as technology and sustainability intersect, pioneers like WayCool Foods, bolstered by tools such as SAP Analytics, are crafting a future where business and the environment coexist harmoniously.

  • Pioneering solution to forward the Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) agenda for the SAP ecosystem
  • Data-driven approach to decarbonising global value supply chains
  • Democratisation of data enables sustainable, intelligent enterprises
  • Product to enhance SNP’s growing analytics portfolio
  • Heidelberg, Germany | Singapore, October 13, 2022 – EXA is an SNP company and leading provider of transformation solutions in financial management that focuses on the areas of operational transfer pricing and global value chains. Now, SNP has announced the launch of EXA’s next-generation Product Carbon Footprint solution: SNP PCF is a cradle-to-gate solution that builds a global bill of material for each product based on finance and logistics data from source SAP ERP systems. This allows to assign carbon emissions to the most granular level of activities such as procurement of each material from external suppliers as well as every value-added activity within the company.

Gerald Faust, MD & CEO, Asia Pacific Japan and Middle East, SNP, says,

“SNP PCF is a new milestone in the continued expansion of SNP’s software portfolio in the SAP environment, which already includes data transformation, data management and analytics. With the new solution, SNP is contributing to the world’s target of reducing the carbon footprint by 45 percent and achieving net zero by 2050.”

Divya Vir Rastogi, CEO and co-founder of EXA, adds, “there is an urgent need for manufacturers to address the challenge of decarbonisation. Proper carbon footprint determination and management not only happens at the level of single products, but down to the level of each individual material and production activity. Only then, carbon emissions can be assigned correctly and rolled up to the product level. While carbon emission values can be secured from suppliers or from LCA databases, companies can assign actual emission values to various activities. Most industry sectors struggle with getting reliable and verifiable data to build global bill of materials to quantify CO2 emissions for their products. SNP PCF delivers the data they need and helps quantifying greenhouse emissions associated with products.”

    About SNP

SNP is a world-leading provider of software for managing complex digital transformation processes. Instead of traditional IT consulting in the ERP environment, SNP offers an automated approach using specially developed software: The Data Transformation Platform CrystalBridge(R) and the SNP BLUEFIELDTM approach allow companies to restructure and modernize their IT landscapes much more quickly and securely as well as migrate to new systems or cloud environments more securely. This gives customers clear qualitative advantages while at the same time reducing their time and costs.

The SNP Group has around 1,300 employees worldwide. The company is headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany, and generated revenues of around EUR 167 million in the 2021 fiscal year. It serves multinational companies in all industries. SNP was established in 1994, went public in 2000, and has been listed in the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since August 2014 (ISIN DE0007203705). Since 2017, the company has been trading as a European company (Societas Europaea/SE).

Newly appointed SAP Concur South East Asia (SEA) Managing Director Dr Carl Jones will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of a global, cross-functional SAP team that includes representatives from sales, pre-sales, customer success, and cloud channel partnerships.

Last May, Dr Carl Jones — who was then the Regional Vice President and Head of Strategy at SAP Concur Asia Pacific (APAC) and Greater China — has been selected as Vice Chair of the Global Business Travel Association’s (GBTA) Global Sustainability Committee to supervise the region’s interest in developing strategies and solutions for sustainability performance in business travel. Dr Jones has over two decades of experience in the travel and payments market and has served in senior positions in several APAC countries such as Singapore and Thailand. His GBTA appointment further strengthens SAP and SAP Concur’s roles as market leaders in supporting organizations in incorporating sustainability into their business travel.

In his new role as SAP Concur SEA MD, Dr Jones’ responsibilities will include managing multiple business units in the market and operational support networks to improve sales processes, product pricing policies, and value propositions. In addition to this, he will represent SAP Concur on strategic initiatives such as Climate 21, which is the German software giant’s corporate effort and well-known global sustainability program aimed at building analytical and transactional capabilities into foundational enterprise applications to assist customers in better understanding and reducing the impact of their carbon footprints.

Commenting on his latest appointment, Dr Jones said in a statement:

“It is an exciting time to be leading SAP Concur efforts in SEA to engage businesses in transforming corporate travel, spend management, and employee experience while striving to help our customers achieve their sustainability goals.”

Moreover, Dr Jones believes that the present time is crucial for the development of more sustainable business practices, as it marks a shift in emphasis from restricted concerns about corporate travel to those that affect the industry as a whole. His statement comes after a recent survey found that 81% of Malaysian companies take environmental impact into account when planning business trips.

“The research findings represent a significant departure from the pre-pandemic days where Malaysian organizations were more concerned about travel cost savings than the environmental impact of their actions,” he explained.

Leading the SAP Concur Team in South East Asia

From January 2018 until May 2021, Dr Jones served as SAP Concur’s Vice President and Head of Travel for APAC. In this role, he was responsible for the commercial development of the company’s product line and ecosystem for its corporate travel range, including gaining a better understanding of customer needs, integrating cutting-edge technologies, and collaborating with key suppliers across Asia and Greater China.

As previously mentioned, he also held the position of Regional Vice President and Head of Strategy at SAP Concur APAC and Greater China from May 2021 to August 2022. In this role, he oversaw the development and alignment of the company’s regional strategic projects in cooperation with all market units throughout Asia, from Korea and China to India and SEA and Australia, as well as within the SAP Cloud Services organization. Together with other major expenditure and financial partners (banks and financial technology providers, among others), he supervised the FSI Enterprise strategy for APAC and helped propel the region’s business growth.

Sharing his thoughts about Dr Jones’ appointment as the new SAP Concur SEA MD, Matt Goss, Senior Vice President and General Manager of SAP Concur for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) and Greater China, stated that Dr Jones’ leadership and established experience will enable the team to achieve great success. According to Goss, he has “full confidence” that the SAP Concur SEA business will continue to expand significantly in the region and become a trusted partner to clients as they search for new methods to increase efficiency, maximize visibility, and improve control.

By combining SAP cloud technologies and international standards with eCloudvalley’s local industry insights, Taiwanese enterprises will be equipped with a sustainable tool to help overcome their concerns about carbon emissions and support their transition to a greener business model.

Taiwanese businesses are finding themselves confronted with pressing needs for sustainable transformation in response to the global sustainability movement —- whether as a result of the requirements of supply chain manufacturers or based on the need to comply with government mandates. SAP is aware that maintaining accurate and reliable data across the organization is critical to the successful execution of sustainability initiatives. In order for enterprises to increase their overall green competitiveness and experience sustainable transformations, each operational unit must first undergo the development of a digital core and then the introduction of sustainability factors.

For the benefit of Taiwanese organizations, SAP Taiwan and IT services provider eCloudvalley Digital Technology have announced that they will collaborate to offer a suite of sustainable solutions based on SAP’s cloud computing infrastructure and eCloudvalley’s knowledge of the local market. The products and services are designed to help businesses enhance their data collection and management, speed up the adoption of green practices like carbon inventory and carbon asset management, comply with the International Standard ISO14064, bolster their competitive advantages, and better prepare for a sustainable future. SAP Global Vice President and SAP Taiwan General Manager Chen Zhiwei mentioned that the top 100 most environmentally conscious businesses in the world are almost entirely made up of SAP customers. Regarding SAP’s partnership with eCloudvalley, he shared:

“We will draw on the essence of sustainable transformation in the world, and use cloud technology to join hands with local partners in Taiwan to bring technology to Taiwan’s industries. It will become a solid and reliable backing for the sustainable transformation of Taiwanese enterprises, and comprehensively create a sustainable blueprint.”

SAP and eCloudvalley have teamed up on the development of a comprehensive cloud-based sustainable solutions that were officially launched last month. The solutions will enable businesses to comply with government regulations regarding sustainability and relevant international standards in the most time- and cost-effective manner possible. On the other hand, the comprehensively sustainable solutions will also be made available on the online SAP Store store for any and all businesses that choose to engage in sustainable transformation.

SAP Cloud Technology Leveraged in New Collaboration with eCloudvalley

Subscription-based software as a service (SaaS) is the backbone of SAP and eCloudvalley’s all-encompassing sustainability solution. To better understand their current sustainability performance, businesses can pick and choose among a wide range of options based on their specific requirements.

Additionally, the solution follows the government’s requirements on carbon emissions from Taiwanese businesses and is built on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). It creates importable, fully functional modules that may be utilized quickly and efficiently across various dimensions.Compliance with government sustainability rules and the needs of upstream and downstream manufacturers can also be met while reviewing the company’s carbon emission status and adapting to shifting conditions in the market.

eCloudvalley Chief Executive Officer Cai Jiahong explained that eCloudvalley partnered with SAP to help accelerate the sustainable digital transformation of large-scale enterprises by incorporating eCloudvalley’s expertise in digital transformation of Taiwan’s industries with SAP’s international-level technical resources and developing modules that can be imported quickly.

“We hope that by linking international standards and local industry insights, we will prepare Taiwanese enterprises with a sustainable tool, alleviate carbon anxiety, and help Taiwanese enterprises achieve green transformation,” he further commented.

Ultimately, SAP and eCloudvalley work together to help customers collect enterprise data in its whole, manage the three areas of carbon inventory, and implement sustainable international standards like ISO14064 and ISO50001. This allows customers to maximize their competitive advantage in the industry.

Aside from supporting enterprises to become future-ready through digital transformation, SAP’s strategy is geared towards accelerating sustainability and promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

SAP recognizes that diversity is essential to achieving its goals, and it is committed to promoting inclusion in all aspects of its business. For the company, Southeast Asia presents an opportunity to work with a wide range of partners and customers to create solutions that have a positive impact on society and the environment.

Verena Siow, President and MD of SAP SEA, recently told the Manila Bulletin that social sustainability is an integral part of sustainability. She believes diversity inclusion is so crucial to a company’s or an individual’s long-term success that it should be implemented system-wide and with a focus on the entire organization.

SAP Diversity and Inclusion Officer Supriya Jha resonates with Siow’s sentiment. She maintains that valuing and promoting diversity and inclusion is no longer merely a moral imperative, but rather a necessity for a company to survive and prosper. Jha further shared:

“Organizations have learned that their people, the ecosystem, and society in general are demanding a higher degree of conscientiousness around diversity and inclusion.”

Addressing Issues on Diversity and Inclusion

Speaking on the advancement of women in the tech industry, Siow noted that SAP has come a long way in the last 20 years since she first entered the workforce. She said that things have changed greatly for women in terms of individuality, respect, and acknowledgment in the professional world.

“I’m very happy to share that in Southeast Asia, 51% of our employee base consists of women. Female statistics in the Philippines are even better at 56% or about 2,500 employees because we also run chat services here. This inclusion aspect helps in addressing the problem of talent shortage in technology companies around the world,” Siow said in the interview.

Unconscious bias can have a negative impact on an individual’s ability to succeed in the workplace. Siow also stated that the enterprise software giant has solutions intended to respond to this issue. She highlighted that the latest technologies can be utilized to make questions in job interviews more gender neutral. This allows for a level playing field so that everyone has an equal opportunity to showcase their skills and abilities.

Strengthening SAP’s Strategy for Sustainability Among Industries

In an effort to reduce inequality and fulfill other Sustainable Development Goals, SAP introduced Chasing Zero which is an initiative designed to bring attention to best practices from the German tech giant’s ecosystem of leading thinkers and academics globally, as well as partners and customers worldwide. The program aims to showcase how businesses can eliminate waste and deliver social value, ultimately leading to a more sustainable future for all.

As sustainability becomes an increasingly pressing business challenge, SAP is working with its partners to explore how they can use today’s technologies to build a more sustainable future. This collaborative effort is essential to addressing the complex challenges of sustainability, which require innovative solutions that draw on the expertise and resources of many different organizations.

According to Siow, SAP is doing a good job at keeping tabs on its initiatives and hopes to reach net zero across all of its supply chains by 2030. The SAP SEA MD emphasized that the company puts its words into action.

“We have launched solutions to help companies become more sustainable. How do you become more sustainable is by getting insights and data, making assessments, and seeing how to make improvements to achieve sustainable goals,” Siow stated.

Finally, Siow advises organizations to undergo transformational projects now to be prepared for the future. Modernizing processes  takes time, she said, and businesses shouldn’t put it off. Siow added that enterprises need to begin transformation immediately in order to be future-ready.

“Getting intelligent insights to make better decisions stands for sustainability. Embedding sustainability is the most pressing challenge we have today and it will become even more difficult in the future,” the SAP Executive said.

As part of its overall sustainability plan, Japanese chemical giant DIC Corporation announced that it will be deploying a pilot version of GreenToken by SAP. The initiative intends to encourage the company’s consumers to support the circular economy by giving them an easier way to visualize the amount of recycled material contained within their products.

GreenToken by SAP is a solution that aims to make the supply chain process more transparent by utilizing private blockchain technology. It also tracks the flow of plastic material production throughout the entire resource lifecycle. First built in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region in collaboration with the SAP.iO Venture Studio, the system is able to track plastics from raw resources through the manufacturing process, sale, and use of products, as well as through selection and pulverization on the way to recovery and recycling.

Highlighting yet another remarkable move in establishing stronger, sustainable, and intelligent manufacturing and supply chains through collective action, DIC Corporation, a leading chemicals company in Japan, is now using the SAP blockchain solution. The project’s goal is to significantly boost sustainable outcomes and increase circularity in the chemicals sector by effectively recovering plastic wastes.

A food packaging recycling program was launched by DIC Corporation and its partner firm in November 2020, combining new technology and collection methods to recover more products like polystyrene that are generally ineligible for material recycling. Utilizing GreenToken by SAP, DIC Corporation’s pilot program aims to trace raw resources along the supply chain from the first phase of material generation to production, inspection, and quality assurance.

Yuji Morinaga, Executive Officer and General Manager of the Packaging Materials Product Division of DIC Corporation, said that the demand for sustainable packaging has increased in response to growing levels of consumer awareness regarding the circular economy. Commenting on the project involving SAP’s cutting-edge technologies, Morinaga added:

“The work with GreenToken helps substantiate environmental claims and supports our mission to advance the recycling of plastics and build a completely circular process with chemical recycling.”

After the completion of the pilot, DIC and GreenToken plan to continue working together to assist the former company’s focus on increasingly pressing social implications and the creation of a sustainable future.

Expediting Shift to Circular Economy with GreenToken by SAP

GreenToken by SAP Co-Founder James Veale, GreenToken by SAP’s co-founder, explained that chemical recycling is an essential component in accelerating the transition to a circular economy; yet, plastic made from chemically recovered plastic waste material is indistinguishable from plastic made from traditional sources. Sharing more about the SAP blockchain technology solution, he said:

“Our solution proves that it really is circular plastic and provides complete, auditable supply chain transparency. That means more trust in recycling from customers and ultimately less waste in the environment.”

At the fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE), which took place in November 2021 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Veale earlier remarked that the audience’s reaction to the SAP solution was an “instantaneous hit.” The local team for the organization advertised the technology to specialists and leaders from various fields, such as the industrial machinery and components sector, consumer products industry, as well as the energy and natural resources segment.

Moreover, SAP APJ Chief Operating Officer Cathy Ward stated that SAP has made sustainability a central focus of its operations, and because the company believes it cannot solve this problem alone, it is collaborating with customers and partners to find solutions. She further shared in a LinkedIn post:

“Creating the future we want starts today and it’s fortunate that we have partners as forward-looking as James Veale, who co-founded and developed GreenToken by SAP with us. Being future ready is increasingly about building sustainable business processes, and companies who invest in sustainability are driving operating margins 3.7x higher on average, than those who don’t.”

Recently, GreenToken by SAP has also been recognized as the recipient of the innovation award in the 2022 Financial Review Sustainability Leaders competition in the field of Technology, Media, and Telecommunications. The organization achieves transparency throughout the supply chain by utilizing digital twin tokens that are stored on a blockchain.
