RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud has become a cornerstone in Averis’ strategy to modernize its IT infrastructure and adapt to evolving business demands.

Averis, a global provider of shared services and solutions across industries such as commodities, clean energy, and pulp production, has embraced RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and SAP Ariba to strengthen its operational capabilities. Headquartered in Malaysia, with a presence spanning Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, the company supports over 300 clients with services in finance, human resources, and procurement. Having operated for 15 years on an on-premise SAP ERP system, Averis recognized the need for transformation to sustain its growth and deliver greater value to its clients.

To address challenges such as capacity planning, streamlined upgrades, and cost management, Averis opted for a hybrid IT model through SAP’s cloud solutions. This approach allows the company to maintain control over sensitive customer data while leveraging the scalability and flexibility of cloud technologies. The hybrid framework integrates public and private cloud environments, ensuring that operational resilience is maintained alongside cost efficiency.

Advantages of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Averis’ adoption of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud has led to a more agile IT infrastructure. By moving the majority of its systems to the cloud, the company has unlocked advanced capabilities in data analytics and automation, enabling faster and more personalized service delivery. These improvements have resulted in measurable enhancements to client satisfaction, with an 8.5% increase reported due to quicker response times and adaptable service offerings.

The shift to a cloud-based operational model has also allowed Averis to move from a traditional CAPEX/OPEX model to a pure OPEX framework. This change has reduced its total cost of ownership (TCO) by 11.5%, providing financial flexibility to scale resources based on demand. The company’s IT environment is now more stable and capable of managing fluctuations in workload, minimizing risks, and improving service continuity.

Averis also intends to future-proof its operations by laying a strong foundation for integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). These innovations aim to boost productivity and resource optimization, further enhancing its competitive edge. With sustainability becoming a focal point for many of its clients, Averis plans to leverage SAP solutions to expand its portfolio in sustainable service offerings, aligning with global environmental objectives.

Strengthening Client Relationships

As part of this transition, Averis has emphasized maintaining strong client relationships by aligning its services with evolving market needs. By integrating SAP’s digital tools and fostering a culture of innovation among its 1,000 professionals, the company has empowered its workforce to adapt to changes and maximize operational efficiency.

According to Herminto, Vice President of Group IT at Averis, the tailored hybrid strategy with SAP has provided a practical balance between cloud benefits and data control. The partnership has ensured business continuity and cost optimization, enabling Averis to better support its clients while maintaining operational agility.

Eileen Chua, Managing Director of SAP Singapore, noted that RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud offers businesses the flexibility needed to scale effectively and achieve tangible results. For Averis, this transformation not only meets current operational demands but also establishes a robust framework for future initiatives in AI and sustainability.

By embracing SAP’s cloud solutions, Averis has positioned itself to navigate the complexities of global operations while fostering innovation and resilience in its service delivery. The integration of these technologies marks a significant step in the company’s journey toward enhanced operational excellence and long-term growth.

SAP has increased its investment in Singapore’s digital ecosystem with a S$12 million contribution to expand its Digital Innovation Accelerator, aimed at enhancing Business AI applications across various industries.

The expanded SAP Digital Innovation Accelerator, supported by Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), represents a significant SAP investment to develop AI-driven solutions in key sectors like advanced manufacturing, financial services, and logistics. The initiative builds on SAP’s long-standing commitment to Singapore, having already committed nearly S$300 million since 2019 to digital innovations, including SAP Labs and an experience management innovation center. The latest S$12 million contribution will prioritize creating industry-specific AI applications, leveraging extensive data and expertise in business processes.

The Accelerator’s purpose is to empower businesses by integrating AI into their operations, targeting improvements in efficiency, cost management, and sustainable practices. SAP’s business AI integrates into its core solutions, providing clients with tools to optimize their workflows, make data-driven decisions and enhance customer experiences. As part of its responsible AI strategy, SAP ensures that these technologies are developed with ethical practices at the forefront.

Eileen Chua, Managing Director of SAP Singapore, emphasized that Singapore’s strategic focus on AI, through programs such as the National AI Strategy and SkillsFuture, aligns with SAP’s goals of fostering research and innovation. The company’s efforts in Singapore support the local economy’s global competitiveness by enabling organizations to adopt cutting-edge technologies. Over the past five years, SAP has co-developed AI-powered solutions with more than 80 businesses, demonstrating the tangible impact of these efforts on the companies’ growth and international expansion.

SAP Investment Supports AI Growth

One of the core objectives of the SAP Digital Innovation Accelerator is to collaborate with businesses to create tailored AI applications that fit their unique needs. This initiative fosters co-innovation between SAP’s in-house experts and industry leaders, helping organizations address specific operational challenges. Philbert Gomez, Executive Director and Head of DISG, highlighted that SAP’s long-term role in the development of Singapore’s digital landscape is essential for supporting AI adoption and increasing the competitiveness of local businesses. By partnering with SAP, DISG intends to push the boundaries of AI applications and sustainability, helping companies reduce their environmental impact.

The collaboration between industry leaders and SAP’s dedicated team is expected to enhance business processes and support environmental initiatives through AI solutions. The Accelerator’s focus on sustainability includes improving environmental monitoring, optimizing supply chains, and reducing resource consumption, ensuring that businesses can address climate challenges while remaining competitive.

Khoo Boo Hor, CEO of Sunningdale Tech, expressed optimism about SAP’s AI development initiative. He believes the Accelerator’s work can enable businesses like Sunningdale Tech to make more precise forecasts, reduce overproduction, and maximize machine utilization. SAP’s AI-driven tools can also help companies reduce waste and improve resource efficiency, which are vital as businesses strive for long-term sustainable growth.

Advancing Digital Skills and AI Literacy

SAP’s investment in Singapore goes beyond AI solutions for businesses. The company is also committed to developing the local talent pipeline through its collaboration with the Singapore government. Over the past five years, SAP has supported more than 1,000 mid-career professionals through the SkillsFuture program, equipping them with hands-on digital skills.

In line with this commitment, SAP has introduced eight free AI courses to help professionals gain foundational knowledge. Looking forward, SAP plans to expand its educational offerings by launching certification programs in Business AI, ensuring that individuals are prepared for future demands in AI-enabled industries.

These educational initiatives aim to build Singapore’s digital capabilities across all sectors. By focusing on both talent development and enterprise-level digital transformation, SAP intends to contribute to the country’s long-term AI ambitions. This dual focus ensures that both emerging talents and established businesses can benefit from SAP’s expertise, driving innovation and growth.

By collaborating with industry leaders and the Singapore government, SAP intends to help businesses integrate AI solutions into their operations, driving efficiency and environmental sustainability. This multi-faceted approach strengthens Singapore’s position as a hub for digital transformation, with AI playing a critical role in shaping the future of various industries.

In Singapore, SAP has recently unveiled the transformation of its traditional workplace into an open, activity-based environment. The new hybrid set-up in the SAP office highlights the company’s commitment to pursuing forward-thinking ways to empower its employees for the future of work.

The office transformation in SAP Singapore came after a survey revealed that 88{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of employees spend less than half of their day at their workstations. This data, which is based on a utilisation study, influenced how the tech giant redesigned its very first hybrid office in South East Asia (SEA). Teaming up with ChangeWorq, an independent workplace strategy and change management consultancy, the project is aimed at boosting social interaction, increasing employee engagement, and fostering team collaboration.

Paul Marriott, President at SAP APJ, said that navigating the reality of hybrid work has taught leaders new approaches to focus on improving employee well-being and workplace conditions. He further explained in a LinkedIn post:

“When planning the space, we put our people first. The new office includes flexible spaces for active team collaboration, focused work, or downtime and is all about empowering our people to choose where to work and when.”

“As we slowly emerge from pandemic restrictions, I’m excited to see how this new hybrid and sustainable workspace inspires our employees to approach their work and personal lives in new ways,” he added.

Boosting Employee Experience in the SAP Workplace

Moreover, the new office in SAP Singapore is in line with the organisation’s Pledge to Flex initiative which was introduced in June. Pledge to Flex is a 100{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} flexible and trust-based global framework intended to support employees’ productivity and creativity, while at the same time, meeting business requirements and running operations responsibly.

Verena Siow, President and Managing Director at SAP SEA, shared in the press release:

“Coming into the workplace is no longer about the physical amenities, it is about the employee experience which revolves around the 3Es – employee engagement, environment, and education. Engagement means offering the best career experience to our employees through our diversity and inclusion initiatives where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.”

Centered on improving employee experience, the workplace now provides flexible spaces so people may choose the best location for their activities. Additionally, SAP also wants its remodeled office to facilitate in-person activities such as collaboration, brainstorming, and social interaction, which are absent when employees work from their own homes.

SAP SEA also advocates for mental health in the workplace through relaxation facilities and programs like Focus Friday. Throughout the year, the local employee engagement committees arrange a variety of in-person and digital initiatives to improve the physical, emotional, and social wellness of all employees and their families.

Reinforcing Sustainability at the New Hybrid SAP Office in SEA

On the other hand, Siow also stressed that the climate crisis necessitates collective action. She noted that protecting the environment is a crucial aspect where organisations can unite employees by implementing sustainable practices and reducing carbon footprint. In support of the Singapore Green Plan — a national push to promote the country’s climate agenda and attain net-zero emissions as soon as possible — the German enterprise software giant also dedicated 5{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of the total area of its office space to greeneries and eco-friendly technologies such as energy-efficient LED lights.

To emphasise its commitment to sustainability, SAP has also established a new SAP Sustainability Center within the SAP Experience Center where customers and partners collaborate through hands-on demonstrations that leverage technology to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“In addition, empowering our employees for the future of work with digital skills and competencies in growing areas of demand such as data analytics and AI in the Fourth Industrial Revolution helps them thrive as their jobs evolve,” Siow stated.

Last month, SAP partnered with SkillsFuture Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic to advance the skills of mid-career professionals for the future of work. Under the SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme-Company Training (SGUP-CT), SAP and Temasek Polytechnic launched four new SAP courses focused on developing market-relevant skills to improve the employability of 370 mid-career job seekers.

Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS), the creator of Singapore’s one-stop health information and services web portal and mobile application HealthHub, intends to get the public’s pulse on the health platform through the integration of Qualtrics Customer Experience Management software.

Singapore’s vision of Smart Nation is underpinned by the country’s adoption of digital and smart technologies across all domains, including the public sector. In the healthcare sector, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Health Promotion Board (HPB) in partnership with Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS), a multi-award-winning healthcare IT leader, delivered HealthHub in 2015. This Smart Health initiative empowers Singaporeans to manage their health and wellness by providing easy access to their public health records and medical appointments online, among others.

The Digital Healthcare Companion

Functioning as the digital healthcare companion for Singaporeans, HealthHub continuously updates its capabilities to adapt to the ever-changing healthcare landscape. In February, the mobile app added a new feature that allows Singapore residents to check their COVID-19 test results and vaccination records– as a significant feature to help in the vaccine rollout. As of 2 September 2021, 80{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of Singapore’s population has completed their full regimen of COVID-19 vaccines and 83{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} has received at least one dose.

Now, as the HealthHub’s user base continues to grow, IHiS wanted to ensure consistent delivery of reliable and excellent healthcare service to the people of Singapore. The company tapped Qualtrics, the world’s leading Experience Management (XM) provider and creator of the XM category, to back HealthHub with its customer experience management software Qualtrics CustomerXM™.

Sharing about the technology partnership, Mao Gen Foo, Head of Southeast Asia, Qualtrics, said:

“In our rapidly changing world, the experience a government or business provides to its customers and employees has never been more important. It means experience management is now critical. With Qualtrics, IHiS will enhance its capabilities to more efficiently listen, understand, and act on feedback to ensure HealthHub delivers meaningful and long-lasting value to users across Singapore.”

Advancing Healthcare with Customer Experience Management Software

Through Qualtrics CustomerXM, IHiS intends to deliver a customer experience programme centred on refining and optimising the HealthHub web portal and mobile app’s customer experience as Singaporeans’ health journeys rapidly evolve.

Leveraging Qualtrics’ predictive intelligence capabilities, HealthHub is expected to deliver the following:

  • Easily collect and aggregate feedback from its users across mobile and online channels in real-time to analyse user sentiment
  • Identify critical feedback
  • Pinpoint emerging trends
  • Enable IHiS to understand if HealthHub’s features are meeting the evolving needs of its users
  • Deliver meaningful customer experiences

As the technology partner that digitises, connects, and analyses Singapore’s health ecosystem, IHiS is one of the first organisations to use the newly opened Qualtrics data centre in the city-state, which provides direct access to the Qualtrics Experience Management Platform in compliance with local data sovereignty and security requirements. The SAP-owned company has recently strengthened its presence in the Asia Pacific and Japan region with the opening of a new headquarters in Sydney and a data centre in Singapore to cater to the increasing demand for Qualtrics Experience Management solutions.

“The recent opening of the Qualtrics data center in Singapore, alongside our plans to hire 1,200 new employees in the region, is a game-changer for local businesses and governments embarking on experience transformations. Organisations will benefit from local access to the Qualtrics Experience Management Platform and our industry-leading experts, equipping them with the insights, capabilities, and support to quickly and confidently respond to our changing world,” explained Foo.

SAP Litmos and SAP SuccessFactors HXM suite are now offered at subsidised rates to support Singaporean SMEs and their workforce on their journey to recovery.

On the 19th of June 2020, Singapore has entered Phase 2 of its three-phased safe re-opening to sustain the efforts of the city-state in managing the pandemic. Under this phase, limited close contact amongst individuals as well as maintaining hygiene and safe management principles are widely implemented. For business owners, they have to ensure telecommuting by default, where possible.

While remote working has become more common than it used to be, there are still pitfalls that both employers and employees encounter as they work together to thrive in the new world of work. For the Singaporean workforce, a recent Qualtrics survey has shown that having robust training support is a key factor that affects employees’ job satisfaction.

New Initiatives for Local SMEs

SAP’s recent initiatives to support local businesses’ hurdles on managing remote working couldn’t have come at a more opportune time, especially for Singapore who has been steadily on Phase 2 (Safe Transition) and is prepping for Phase 3 (Safe Nation), the country’s new normal (Safe Nation). Now, SAP has opened up access to SAP Litmos, SAP’s cloud-based eLearning management platform, and SAP SuccessFactors, its cloud human capital management solution, to equip organisations, and consequently, their employees on their journey to recovery.

Eileen Chua, Managing Director at SAP Singapore, acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted traditional ways of working and business operations. She stressed that the silver lining in this global crisis is that organisations have accelerated their digital transformation and have seen the value of business agility and diversity of skillsets that are crucial for long-term recovery. She said:

“As Singapore continues its acceleration towards a digital economy to power growth, technology will be a cornerstone in an increasingly data-driven, digital future and will be found not only in the backend but also every touchpoint of the business and facet of society.”

“Through opening up access of SAP Litmos and SuccessFactors to local businesses in Singapore, we believe these will aid digital upskilling and retraining efforts, where employees are empowered to take on higher-value roles and diversify their skillsets and knowledge, playing a greater role in driving business growth and transformation,” SAP Singapore MD explained.

SAP Litmos and SAP SuccessFactors HXM suite offer local SMEs remote digital tools to enhance employees’ skillsets, strengthen employee engagement, even as organisations transform and redesign their business models.

Upskilling with SAP Litmos

SAP Litmos combines a powerful Learning Management System called SAP Litmos Training with a robust course library called SAP Litmos Training Content. It enables targeted learning that trains and diversifies employee skillsets; boosts employee experience and loyalty; protects the brand by keeping the organisation compliant; and improves KPIs across the enterprise.

AcePLP, a local engineering consultancy and one of Singapore’s most widely used Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) services provider, has recently adapted remote learning to enhance the skillsets of its employees. Recognising the importance of equipping its employees with digital workflows and skills as they embrace remote working, Ivan Tang, Operations Manager of AcePLP, shared:

“As part of our digital transformation journey, we are using SAP Litmos to accelerate hybrid-learning for our 250-strong employees to help increase workflow efficiency for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industries.”

SAP has recently made the customer experience edition of SAP Litmos Training solution globally available on SAP Store,

Advancing HR with SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

As businesses ease through remote working, SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite can help organisations continue providing its workforce with experiences that recognise their individual value and consistently motivate them to achieve peak performance levels.

Local SMEs can leverage SAP Successfactors solutions in bringing their traditional HR processes to the cloud; digitalising and providing analytics on employee feedback management, core HR, and payroll services; and adapting to fluctuating talent needs across recruitment, onboarding, performance, learning and development.

RHT Management Services, a leading professional services company headquartered in Singapore, and PSB Academy, one of Singapore’s leading private education institutions, have successfully rolled out SAP SuccessFactors to help digitally transform their HR processes.

“With SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite, we aim to deliver the exceptional employee experiences to help create a more flexible, engaged workforce and a more resilient business,” said Shan Gandhimani, Chief Information Officer.

“Shifting our manual HR processes to SAP has definitely improved employee experience and organisation efficiency. Information is available 24/7 and approvals can be done on-the-go, not to mention the ease of process tracking and record-keeping, too,” said Cecilia Yeoh, Vice President of Human Resource.

According to a SuccessFactors implementer DDG (Daya Dimensi Global), SMEs in Singapore have been leveraging existing government grants to digitalise their workforce and support their employees’ development and wellbeing remotely such as SME Go Digital grants for SAP SuccessFactors.

SAP S/4 HANA Cloud, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) version of S/4 HANA, offers three platforms: SAP S/4 HANA Enterprise Management Cloud, SAP S/4 HANA Marketing Cloud, SAP S/4 HANA Professional Services Cloud.

SAP specialist Delaware Consulting in Singapore beefs up its business plan in the city-state by enforcing an enhanced go-to-market strategy, going beyond core enterprise resource planning (ERP) and SAP S/4HANA Cloud implementations.

In an interview with Channel Asia, Delaware shared that the new strategy brings the enterprise cloud migration as the firm’s core offering that would transform the company as a leading SAP partner. Furthermore, the firm intends to leverage internal coaching and training for more robust delivery excellence, considering that the firm recently recruited around 20 new consultants dubbed as “young Singaporean talent”.

Yeo Pei Lin, partner at Delaware Singapore said:

“We are a purpose-led organisation, we believe in doing the right thing for our customers and we understand that success is something you can only create together.”

“We have a heavy focus on long-term collaboration and sustainability vs. short-term gain – this is also why we focus on strong relations with our customers which last,” the partner added.

Pei Lin emphasised that the company’s approach is simple and that is to be a “trusted advisor”. Speaking to Channel Asia, she said:

“It is our ambition to be the trusted advisor of our customer, someone that can be consulted without qualms for true insights and understanding. Over time, we want to increase the services we offer to our customers since customer intimacy allows us to better cater to specific needs”

“We aspire to be the partner of choice on a journey with our customers and in that, jointly invest. Thanks to our company construct, we can move quickly in critical decision making while ensuring a broad regional and global reach,” the Delaware partner further explained.

Delaware, a fast-growing global company, has SAP and Microsoft as its key business partners in delivering sustainable advanced solutions and services to its customers worldwide. Founded in Belgium in 2003, Delaware now has over 2,400 professionals with 26 offices including the one in Singapore where it is recognised as the only SAP partner with competence in S/4HANA Public Cloud deployments. This competitive advantage brought forth many enterprise projects for the company in the past 12 months.

Pei Lin stated:

“A number of challenging and very large engagements have been brought on track to ensure a timely and correct delivery.”

“Some already closed in 2019 while the remainder are being concluded in early 2020,” she disclosed.

One example of a massive engagement was SAP’s collaboration with SingEx Holdings that helped drive the transformation of its global finance operations in Southeast Asia, China, India, and the UK through SAP S/4HANA Cloud deployment. SingEx, wholly owned by Temasek Holdings, leverages SAP’s capabilities in providing an end-to-end view of the customer lifecycle and enterprise processes through its best in class software solutions in building a robust, adaptable and scalable Global Finance System. This resulted in the first S/4HANA Cloud deployment in Singapore in August 2019 with Delaware as the implementation partner.

Pei Lin stressed:

“We aided a number of organisations in Singapore recently to simplify IT landscapes and make operations more predictable through supporting them in adopting the SAP Cloud ERP.”

“Even if the principles are sound and appear obvious, the transition is a challenging one. This is because many organisations are used to the ‘on-premises paradigm’ and working with cloud solutions requires a very different mindset, which requires a lot of skill and support to enable,” she said.

Delaware was recognised as a “niche player” in the recent Gartner magic quadrant, assessing “SAP S/4HANA Application Services” at a global level.

While some global companies are looking to put up offices in Singapore, Rolling Arrays, a Singapore-based HR specialist, shares its plans to expand its business in the ANZ and greater Asian region.

Rolling Arrays announced that it would put its priorities for strategic growth on markets in Australia, New Zealand, and greater some Asian markets. And they plan to do it by leveraging SAP SuccessFactors.

SuccessFactors was acquired by SAP in 2012 for $3.4 billion. It delivers human capital management (HCM) software. At present, it has a user base of more than 120 million and services over 7,000 customers.

Channel Asia shared an interview with Manu Khetan, the founder and CEO of Rolling Arrays. Khetan shared that their priority for this year is to expand further into new markets.

In his statement, he said:

“…we intend to continue establishing that we are the de facto leader in HR transformation being a true SuccessFactors implementation provider.”

He added that the company’s years of expertise and a stable customer base built the foundation for its goals to capitalise their reputation as an early mover in the industry as well as having a reputation in the field of HR tech transformation.

Khetan further emphasised how SuccessFactors is being adopted by customers driving the company to make sure that customers are getting the best value for their business. He also noted that as customer behaviour patterns change, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions are becoming more preferred over bespoke and on-premise software.

Rolling Arrays built its partnership with SAP in 2010, which kick-started its decade of experience in delivering consultation and implementation services for human resources. They have an impressive track record for delivering more than 150 HR transformation projects for over 75 blue-chip customers in Asia.

Khetan credited their experience to the company’s openness to small or big projects, helping them solve problems before they start an RFP or RFI process by getting to the “heart of the business needs.”

Additionally, Khetan talked about how businesses used to adopt HR technology after making investments for finance, procurement or supply chain solutions; however, they have seen companies put more focus on human capital by investing in HR solutions and services.

This 2020, Khetan said that customers now want HR solutions that are accessible, efficient, and simple. These experiences can be delivered with the help of technologies such as AI, chatbots, and machine learning.

Lastly, Khetan said that transforming HR will be met with challenges such as changes to the economy, industry, and statutory compliances. Also, other factors that may impact the transformation process are the diversity of cultures, dynamic employee demography, and globalisation.

Currencycloud, a London-based start-up, offers a global payment platform built on smart technology. The majority of its partners include popular finance apps. Earlier this week, they announced that they had raised more than $80 million in Series E funding.

Currencycloud launched a Series A funding in 2011 which expanded by 2012. In the process, they were able to create an infrastructure for business-to-business (B2B) cross-border payments. CNBC reported that the investment round of the project was led by Visa, a multinational financial services corporation, and Sapphire, SAP’s venture capital arm.

TechCrunch reported that other big investors during the round include the French bank BNP Paribas, Japan’s SBO Group, Thailand’s Siam Commercial, and the Bank International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank’s investment arm. Meanwhile, Currencycloud had existing investors such as Google Ventures (GV) and Sapphire Ventures.

Currencycloud facilitates cross-border digital payments that are done through a set of remittance APIs.

The APIs allow businesses to integrate their existing services with Currencycloud’s platform so they can initiate remittances to other countries. The platform covers multiple cross-border transaction areas such as foreign exchange, inbound money collection, multi-currency digital wallet services, and outgoing payments.

At present, the platform has started a momentum because of the increased remittance flows between countries.

World Bank reported that in 2018, the remittance flows to middle and low-income countries hit a sky-high record of $529 billion. To date, over $50 billion has been transferred between 180 countries.

Some of the popular finance apps that use Currencycloud includes Moneze, Monzo, Starling, and Revolut.

With the new funding gathered, Currencycloud is looking to enter the Asian market because of its high adoption rate for finance apps. They are considering a new office in Singapore, a country with a stable and progressive plug-and-play business environment.

Singapore has been stirring up a commotion in the tech industry and has been attracting businesses—both local and abroad. It’s as if it has been giving out invitations to invest tech in the country. It has also been warmly welcoming start-ups.

For example, Datavard, a Germany-based SAP provider for more than two decades, decided to open a Singapore office in 2017. Ekrem Namazci, APJs’ regional managing director, identified Singapore as the next logical step for the company because of its leading high-tech advancement with a young population that openly embraces innovation.

With a new Singapore office in the plans, Currencycloud may have the opportunity to expand its services to more businesses in Asia with the possibility of opening its doors to more investors and customers.
