This week, German software solutions provider SAP announced that more than 280 companies in the third quarter went live with SAP Ariba solutions to digitalize spend management and procurement. One of these companies is Vestas, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions. The company recently expanded its contract with SAP Ariba and completed the worldwide rollout of SAP Ariba’s supplier lifecycle management solution, ‘SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance.’
The Danish company has several offices in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, North America, and Latin America regions. It had its final go-live of the SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance solution in China according to a press release by SAP.
The rollout of the supplier lifecycle management solution builds upon the successful implementation of SAP Ariba solutions for sourcing, invoicing, contracting, and commerce automation at the company.
Enabling digital collaboration with supplier lifecycle management solutions from SAP
Vesta’s SAP Ariba partnership began in November 2019. The company wanted to transform its supplier collaboration process and chose SAP Ariba to support it on this digital procurement transformation and support its continued growth.
Through the development of a single cloud-based portal, Vestas digitalized its end-to-end procurement processes, fundamentally changing and strengthening supplier collaboration and engagement.
In a letter addressed to its suppliers, Keith Forsyth, Head of Global Procurement and Thomas Okke Frahm, SVP and CIO, Global IT at Vestas said that they believe moving to SAP Ariba not only benefits the company but also brings substantial benefits to all of its supplier partners. These benefits include:
- accurate and timely payments
- improved cost-efficiency with shorter processing time and reduced manual handling of orders and documents
- real-time visibility to invoice payment status ensuring increased transparency throughout the transaction
- easy and secure administration of suplier information
- ensured compliance with contracted terms automatically applied in transactions.
- improved opportunity for business growth with exposure to established buyers in the SAP Ariba Network
Additionally, by moving procurement onto one cloud-based platform for supplier onboarding and performance management, Vestas is further improving not just the experience of its network of more than 2,000 suppliers, but also that of its employees. SAP Ariba enables Vestas employees to:
- manage their buying in SAP Ariba via catalogs or free-text, in compliance with the company’s procurement policies and processes
- easily reach the right suppliers, allowing for closer collaboration with selected and contracted vendors and minimizing maverick spend
- ensure compliance with policies, processes, and contracted terms automatically
- increase supplier satisfaction
Furthermore, employees are equipped with an integrated supplier lifecycle management, from registration to qualification and throughout the supplier relationship.
