By combining best practices with in-depth analytics, a cloud-based ERP solution — such as SAP S/4HANA Cloud — helps simplify the process of expansion for businesses without compromising profitability.

In the past, Scott Russell, who is now the Executive Board Member and Head of Customer Success at SAP and the former SAP APJ President, predicted that Asia would take the lead in the Business Transformation as a Service (BTaaS) offering RISE with SAP adoption as businesses in the region continue to commit resources to business transformation using cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. This transition is particularly evident in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, India, and Vietnam.

Among those that recently embarked on a cloud digital transformation journey is Ho Chi Minh City-based international multi-disciplinary company BIN Corporation Group. Established in 2009, BIN Corporation Group’s 10 worldwide brands serve both consumers and businesses across a wide range of industries. The Group’s planning, human resources, operations, and business performance monitoring are all managed methodically, thoroughly, and consistently across all divisions. This allows the Group to further differentiate itself from its competitors in the same market.

Shark Le Hung Anh (Mr. Jimmy Lee), Chairman at BIN Corporation Group, emphasized that the Group’s administration must be brought into the modern era immediately by implementing a digital transformation plan. The BIN Corporation Group is able to consolidate all of its operations into a single database thanks to the use of a digital platform. By doing so, the company’s top brass can work together more cohesively on corporate governance, and processes can flow more easily from one department to the next.

This past week saw the formal signing of a SAP S/4HANA Cloud solution project collaboration agreement between BIN Corporation Group, SAP Vietnam, and IT services provider ATS Vietnam. It is hoped that SAP S/4HANA Cloud would facilitate BIN Corporation Group’s digital transformation and system-wide standardization. The Group will be using efficiencies to be ready for the next stage of its development, with the goal of becoming a diversified, high-tech enterprise with a permanent foothold in the global economy.

Utilizing SAP S/4HANA, A Cloud-Based ERP Solution

In accordance with the terms of the agreement, SAP Vietnam will be responsible for coordinating with BIN Corporation Group to implement the SAP ERP S/4HANA project and providing advice on the selection of appropriate digital solutions for the company’s business consulting, financial consulting, e-commerce, and tourism operations. The real-time integration of several business processes provided by SAP ERP paves the way for management that is both more flexible and more effective, ultimately leading to increased productivity.

Moreover, the following modules were developed, implemented, verified, and put into operation within the project’s 12-month time frame:

  • Human Resource Management
  • Sales Management
  • Performance Management
  • Project Management
  • Purchasing Management
  • Financial Management

In a bid to effectively implement the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud solution, it is vital to have the backing of the Board of Directors of BIN Corporation Group, the dedication of the team, and the commitment of ATS Vietnam. In addition, SAP Vietnam collaborates often with ATS Vietnam and the BIN Corporation Group in order to ensure that the project will be successful.

“Based on real-time data, the Group’s leadership will make informed decisions to minimize the redundancy and wastage time and to increase individual performance as well as company’s operational efficiency. In accordance with the Prime Minister of Vietnam’s decision, we signed the collaboration agreement on October 10 in response to National Digital Transformation Day”, BIN Corporation Group’s Chairman further shared.

The adoption of SAP SuccessFactors HR solutions has allowed Vietnamese businesses to streamline their operations and focus on providing a better experience for their employees.

Organizations are at an inflection moment in terms of employee experience as they try to accommodate a growing number of remote workers without sacrificing company culture, agility, or productivity, according to a new Forrester report jointly published by tech companies SAP, Qualtrics, and EY. The research also showed that investing in the employee experience pays off in huge dividends for the business as a whole.

Additionally, 59% of human resource (HR) managers and 67% of business leaders believe that employee experience efforts have a favorable effect on workforce agility. The majority of workers (80%) believe that focusing on the employee experience has a positive impact on their productivity and quality of their work. On the other hand, 77%  of HR managers have reported an increase in revenue as a result of employee experience programs, and 61% have indicated an increase in profitability.

Earlier this month, SAP hosted a dialogue program dubbed Sustainable Workforce – Trends Impacting Your People, which drew HR managers and executives from a diverse variety of industries. The event was an opportunity for attendees to discuss the challenges and opportunities they face when it comes to sustaining a workforce. Topics of discussion included the impact of automation on employment, the role of technology in employee experience, and the need for upskilling and reskilling programs.

Human experience at work is becoming increasingly essential for businesses to maintain a productive and engaged workforce in the modern economy. Daikin Vietnam, Vietcombank, NovaGroup, Techcombank, and Coca-Cola, among other Vietnamese enterprises, understand the importance of — or the seriousness with which they should approach — the employee experience.

Noting that organizations that truly want to fulfill their potential as sustainable, intelligent enterprises place people at the heart of everything they do, Nguyen Hong Viet, Managing Director at SAP Vietnam, shared:

“Connecting data, technology, and business strategy enables every organization to create a sustainable workforce where employees have the agency to shape their careers and feel valued for their contributions is paramount to meet your desired business goals. Companies that embark on digital HR transformation will enjoy faster rates of innovation, higher market share gains, and greater operational efficiencies than their industry counterparts.”

Implementing SAP SuccessFactors HR Technologies

To further enable HR as the strategic business partner, Daikin Vietnam — a market leader in the country’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry — is embracing digital transformation. As a whole, the company’s mission is to become the “best place to work” in the country by providing exceptional service to all employees, from the time they are hired until they retire. Since this was the case, Daikin Vietnam began its HR digital transformation journey using SAP SuccessFactors, making it one of the first implementations in the country’s HVAC sector.

According to Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Head of HR at Daikin Vietnam, employees could access HR services in a completely self-service approach whenever and wherever they needed them thanks to the SAP SuccessFactors implementation. Not only did the organization eliminate up to 75% of paper-based HR decisions, but it also reduced the time it takes to complete an HR transaction from three to 10 business days.

“The deployment of SAP SuccessFactors is an integral component of Daikin Vietnam’s effort to create a more agile human resource model, and is testament to their strategic focus on the employee experience,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, accurate reporting, excessive paperwork, and delayed approval processes were the major HR difficulties Vietcombank faced before adopting SAP SuccessFactors. By the end of Phase 2 implementation, the foreign trade bank had automated and self-serviced its HR processes, increased employee productivity by helping them better connect their personal goals with the company’s, and improved employee engagement.

Hong Quang, Member of the Board of Directors and Head of HR Department at Vietcombank, further explained:

“SAP SuccessFactors allowed better transparency and access to employee data for better insights and decision-making. For example, with better insight into the current skills of our workforce, we can align training closely to our employees’ working process, and effectively re-skilling our workforce for the digital economy.”

CP Vietnam Corporation (CP Vietnam), an overseas operation of CP Foods, intends to increase employee engagement and maximise the benefits of its investment in human resources (HR) technology with the help of the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite.

Nguyen Hong Viet, Managing Director at SAP Vietnam, believes that in today’s modern economy, it is no longer a luxury for a company to have an integrated and real-time HCM system; rather, it is an important component of the infrastructure of any enterprise. He said that CP Vietnam, which recently revealed that it has embarked on an HR digital transformation journey with SAP SuccessFactors solutions, will be able to improve transparency and access to relevant employee data for greater decision-making.

“This will result in higher employee productivity, lower turnover rate, and better upskilling capabilities so that the entire workforce can become competent and ready for global expansion opportunities,” he further added.

The implementation of the project is estimated to take between six and eight months, and it is scheduled to become operational in the beginning of 2023. CP Vietnam views this endeavour as a large-scale strategic project that will enhance the company’s HCM and development efforts in the years to come.

Moreover, Nguyen noted that SAP is delighted to support CP Vietnam in realising their “Kitchen of the World” vision by ensuring that their customers receive food that is of the highest quality in terms of nutrition, hygiene, and safety, all while adhering to environmentally friendly manufacturing standards and principles of sustainable management. Last March, the agro-industrial and food conglomerate also teamed up with local partners in the country’s seafood supply chain to accelerate sustainability efforts at Vung Tau sea.

Leveraging SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Since 1993, CP Vietnam has grown into one of the country’s top food conglomerates, spanning cattle and aquaculture ventures. The events of the global COVID-19 pandemic have struck numerous businesses, including CP Vietnam. With this, the company established  a strategy to secure its business operations, uphold its social responsibility, and manage its workforce of 30,000 individuals.

In order to adjust to the new circumstances, the business made the decision to become digital. This move included supporting the modernisation of HR into automated and data-driven operations while integrating best practices and standards from across the world. Chinoros Benjachavakul, Senior Vice President in charge of Human Resources and External Relations at CP Vietnam, said that the current state of the market presents agricultural businesses with an excellent opportunity to enter the digital world, play catch-up with the trends that are prevalent among global corporations, and streamline their operational and management activities.

The SAP SuccessFactors project being undertaken by CP Vietnam encompasses the full range of HR business operations and employee experience modules, including the following:

  • Recruiting
  • Onboarding
  • Learning
  • Performance and Goal
  • Succession Planning & Career Development
  • Workforce Analytics
  • Planning

Modern user interface and embedded interaction capabilities are all features of the cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors solutions that will help CP Vietnam boost user adoption, engagement, and staff collaboration. According to CP Vietnam Director of HR Strategy Chanin Ruethaithananon, the business has greatly cut down on complexity by unifying its HR procedures on a single platform that is intuitive and easy to access thanks to the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite.

“This will increase transparency and access to employee data for better insights and decision-making and enable CP Vietnam to have a new strategy and vision for the digital era, to help the company achieve the set goals and lay the foundation for greater digital transformation later. Creating a more productive and engaging workforce promoting employee growth and happiness that management and employees are united under one company culture,” he explained.

Reinforcing the vision of transforming organisations into intelligent enterprises, the newly-established Vietnam SAP User Group (VSUG) aims to drive co-innovation among solution users and customers within the community, as well as help maximise their investment in SAP technologies.

The German enterprise software giant has been at the forefront of offering sustainable, intelligent solutions to businesses and governments of all sizes across the globe. According to SAP, a notable increase has been seen in the number of SAP customers in Vietnam in the past few years. This is because the Vietnamese government has issued the National Digital Transformation Programme with the goal of becoming a digital nation by 2025, as well as having 100,000 digital technology enterprises.

In response to the growing number of customers seeking a network to assist them in fostering co-innovation, the Vietnam SAP User Group (VSUG) has been founded in the country as an avenue for exchanging relevant experiences that will help optimise their investments in SAP technologies and other IT solutions. Today, SAP has 47 user groups in various locations throughout the world, with VSUG being the newest to be formed. These user groups are backed by the Global User Groups organisation, which works as an independent, non-profit group focused on educating members while also facilitating engagement and shaping SAP’s strategy.

Nguyen Hong Viet, who has been appointed as the Managing Director of SAP Vietnam back in 2020, stated that SAP is firmly committed to helping its customers become a “best-run business.” Aside from supporting clients in their journey towards becoming an intelligent enterprise, the tech giant also delivers customer success as its highest purpose by capitalising on collaborations with the partner ecosystem. Moreover, Nguyen believes that Vietnam has now gotten to a point where all SAP customers could take advantage of an established community in the country.

“This is the opportune time to have the user group in Vietnam as users will be able to exchange information and ideas of mutual interest and value as well as share their best practices with industry peers, technology experts from SAP and our partners to fuel the full benefits of SAP software,” he explained.

Establishing the Vietnam SAP User Group (VSUG)

VSUG’s inaugural ceremony was held last month to build the SAP community in the country. The event also strengthens SAP’s commitment to supporting Vietnamese customers in understanding the real impact and linking the individuals that keep the business momentum forging ahead. Additionally, the conference was graced by founding members of VSUG who devoted their time to serving on the management board —- which governs the organisation and leads the user community.

According to Nguyen, SAP user groups play a crucial role in SAP software development by providing SAP with relevant user feedback in all functional and technical fields of interest, which may then be used to shape SAP’s product direction in the future. The SAP MD further shared:

“SAP Solution and Strategy Update session at Vietnam SAP User Group kickoff ceremony has been organised to set the cornerstone for customers’ success to Vietnam SAP user groups. We are renowned for our vast product, solution, and services portfolio across all industries and lines of businesses. These knowledge transfers for SAP User Groups offerings provide a big picture overview of SAP’s portfolio, diving into details as we go along and the latest information on roadmaps, technical and business updates.”

With skills-building, networking, and advancing business innovation and productivity in mind, the goal of VSUG is to equip members with the following benefits:

  • Obtaining relevant information and education about SAP services, technologies, solutions, and products.
  • Gaining access to a network with members across a wide range of industries within Vietnam and globally.
  • Get support in creating a transformation roadmap that will help drive business growth.
  • Shaping SAP’s future product development by delivering user feedback in all functional and technical fields of interest.

Users can sign up to become members of the Vietnam SAP User Group by visiting their website.

In 2019, the SAP business in Vietnam has seen a growth trajectory, particularly the cloud business in the private sector, despite Vietnamese state-owned businesses favoring on-premise systems due to stricter cybersecurity legislation that came into effect earlier.

Continuing SAP’s success in the Vietnamese market, the homegrown talent Nguyen Hong Viet has been appointed as the new Managing Director of SAP Vietnam directly reporting to Verena Siow, President and Managing Director of SAP Southeast Asia.

SAP SeA MD Siow expressed:

“As an employer of choice, SAP makes every effort to support our employees to reach their full potential, and Viet’s promotion is testament to the rising local leader that we have in the talent bench. His appointment comes at a very exciting time as Vietnam is powering its way to claim its place in the new digital economy – supported by a young population, high growth rate, and a location in the heart of high-growth Asian economies. Viet is a proven leader who embodies what it means to be customer-centric and employee-focused. I am confident that he will lead the Vietnam business to greater heights”.

Homegrown SAP Leader

Starting as an SAP Account Executive in 2012, Viet progressively rose from the ranks and was most recently the General Business Sales Manager for SAP Vietnam. The sales team that he led contributed to the achievement of company revenue while delivering customer value and innovation through cloud transformation with strategic and key clients.

Viet’s strong work ethics and excellent long-term planning and execution abilities have been welded with the Vietnamese business culture that is based on fundamental trust. Several SAP customer success stories in the public sector, financial services, and manufacturing industries can be credited to the hard work and expertise of Viet coupled with his 19 years of experience in the technology industry across software, hardware, and cloud.

Continuing SAP’s Legacy

Prior to the COVID-19 crisis, the Economist Intelligence Unit predicts that Vietnam will experience stable growth and continue to be one of the fastest-growing economies in the region between 2019 and 2023. The government’s commitment to Industry 4.0, recognising the private enterprise as the core engine of the economy, makes it the most opportune time for SAP to grow and expand in Vietnam.

Coming in at an extremely challenging time, the new SAP Vietnam MD sheds light and hope to SAP customers and partners in the country. He said:

“COVID-19 has adversely impacted Vietnam’s economy. In the past months, SAP has been supporting our Vietnamese customers and partners to tackle disruptions caused by COVID-19, leveraging intelligent technologies to support remote working, digital supply chains, and manage customer and employee experiences. SAP will continue to help our customers accelerating their digital transformation journey towards becoming Intelligent Enterprises.”

Focusing on Gen Z

In 2018, the Nielsen published an article titled ‘How to engage with Generation Z in Vietnam’ reported the Gen Z will comprise 25{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of the labour workforce in the country by 2025. With a relatively young population of nearly 100 million people, of which 60{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} are under the age of 35, Vietnam focuses on developing HR for a digital economy.

Sharing some of SAP Vietnam’s initiative in equipping the youth, MD Viet said:

“SAP Vietnam will also focus on equipping youth with knowledge and skills ready for the digital future through programs such as the ASEAN Data Science Explorers and SAP University Alliances. Our recently announced collaboration with UNICEF Vietnam to provide quality education and essential digital skills training to adolescents in disadvantaged communities in Viet Nam will further accelerate our continuous efforts to help improve people’s lives in Vietnam. No one should be left behind in this digital race.”

Generation Z, or Gen Z, is a term used to refer to the demographic cohort called “Millennials” born between 1995 and 2010. This cohort is currently between the ages of nine and 24 years old.

The Gen Z is now growing up and is expected to enter the workforce within the next few years. Now, business leaders need to be ahead in harnessing the generation’s talents and appealing to their interests.

In 2018, Nielsen published an article titled ‘How to engage with Generation Z in Vietnam. It is expected that Gen Z will comprise 25{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of the labour workforce in the country by 2025. The article also described this generation as the cohort that embraces multiculturalism with care for environmental matters, gender equality, and social responsibility.

These characteristics are prominent when Gen Z workers express the sentiment through brand choices; whereas, 50{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} favor brand that mirrors Vietnamese cultures and values.

How Generation Z will choose their careers

Gen Z workers will be cautious. They are most likely to seek sensible career choices that are shaped by practical realities.

Adecco Vietnam reports that when it comes to choosing a job, Gen’s top priority is salary and benefits followed by professional recognition of qualities and job satisfaction.

The survey revealed that 48{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of Gen Z learned about career choices through social media, while 19{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} said it was through school or university. These figures complement their attitude towards technology, not knowing a world without smartphones and social media.

In a Forbes article published in 2018 titled ‘Understanding Vietnam’s Generation Z’, Gen Z uses an average of 2.77 social media platforms each week. But surprisingly, this group is least interested in sharing personal lives on social media for public record and are most likely to use anonymous social media platforms like Snapchat.

Additionally, Gen Z workers will retain the connection of their jobs to social impact as the top priority. This is according to Dell Technologies’ research in 2018 titled ‘Gen Z: The Future has Arrived. While Gen Z is seeking for job security and monetary motivation, they are also less interested in climbing the corporate ladder and are more likely to support their companies’ growth and success. 43{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} said that they want to work in environmentally and socially responsible organisations.

Boosting the skills of the future workforce

Technological advancements and labour markets’ rapid changes impacted the youth’s skills and are prompting them to upgrade or risk being outdated.

World Economic Forum (WEF) conducted a research this year which revealed that 69.3{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of Vietnamese youth expressed awareness on the importance of updating their current education and skills.

Adecco Malaysia and Vietnam’s General Director, Andree Mangels, said:

“They start to look for internship opportunities right in the first year of college and don’t hesitate to broaden their networks through events. Yet, their skills are still very academic, which required additional training, especially soft skills.”

Vocational schools in Vietnam are pushed to include soft skills training in their curriculum to meet the market needs. 49{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of Vietnam’s Gen Z claimed that fruitful sources come from internship programs. 41{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} said that it may come from student clubs and 35{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} noted part-time jobs.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) partnered with SAP and has announced plans of providing quality education, digital skills, and life skills training for the disadvantaged Vietnamese communities to help them prepare for decent work.

The Vietnamese government will also take part in the plan to enhance 11,000 secondary and vocational school students in Vietnam in the first year.

Josephin Galla, Managing Direcot of SAP Vietnam, said:

“Businf Adecco Malaysia and Vietnam, said that Vietnam’s Gen Zs are proactive. “They start to look for internship opportunities right in the first year of college and don’t hesitate to broaden their networks through events. Yet, their skills are still very academic, which required additional training, especially soft skills.”

Additionally, the Boeing Company and The Asia Foundation announced plans to open a one-year vocational training that will focus on the development of practical information skills for Hanoi and Hai Duong’s disadvantaged young adults.

The awarded teams won for their excellent capabilities in developing and presenting data-driven solutions that highlight six Sustainable Development Goals such as: (1) good health and well-being, (2) quality education, (3) gender equality, (4) decent work and economic growth, (5) industry, innovation & infrastructure and (6) sustainable cities and communities.

Trung Vu, a member of Team AWM from Viet Nam, said:

“We were just excited and delighted that our ideas and our solutions were acknowledged by ASEAN, UN and other governmental agencies to turn our vision into reality. We also got exposure to diverse cultures from students from other countries that we’ve become friends with. We can learn from each other and share our knowledge and different perspectives on the region and I believe that diversity is crucial for someone who wants to be a global citizen such as myself and a lot of other students.”

ASEAN Foundation and SAP Joining Forces

The ASEAN Foundation and SAP launched ASEANDSE in 2017 as a regional programme that would equip ASEAN youth with skill sets fit for the fourth industrial revolution and, at the same time, unleash the region’s full potential. For the past two years, over 9,000 youths from 230 higher education institutions in the region with data analytic skills have already benefited from the programme. Participating youth from across different disciplines like political science, engineering and architecture build actionable insights from data to come up with solutions that have an impact on these areas.

Elaine Tan, the Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation, shared:

“ASEAN Foundation is honoured and proud to collaborate with SAP for three consecutive years. SAP played a significant role in this initiative as together we are addressing the post-2020 direction of ASEAN youth development that focuses on fostering future-ready ASEAN youth through digital skills development. The initiative helps ASEAN youths to seize the vast opportunities that lie ahead of them. At the same time, the initiative equips them with relevant digital skills they require to tackle the challenges posed by the Industrial Revolution 4.0.”

Eugene Ho, Head of Corporate Affairs, SAP Southeast Asia, explained:

“We have identified that a widening digital skill gap is becoming a growing challenge across all industries and sectors in ASEAN. The collaboration with the ASEAN Foundation has helped us to steer our focus on developing the human capital pool to ensure that all ASEAN young citizens have the relevant skills needed to thrive in the digital economy”.

Ho stressed that with the help of the ASEANDSE programme, the digital skills gap in the region will be solved.

Ms. Kasama Kongsmak also said:

“Seeing the youth as the generation of tomorrow, DEPA pays great attention to empowering them with universal mindset, innovative tools, and most importantly compassionate visions. With the objectives of ASEAN Data Science Explorers being in line with our core mission and the theme of Thailand’s 2019 ASEAN Chairmanship ‘Advancing Partnership for Sustainability’, we are more than pleased to support the program by being the co-host of the ASEANDSE Regional Finals 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand and look forward to many more regional collaborative opportunities to come.”

Generation Unlimited, launched in 2018, is a partnership hosted by UNICEF to connect secondary-age education and training to employment and entrepreneurship. Partners from government, multilateral organizations, civil society, the private sector and young people from around the world are brought together to work on Generation Unlimited’s ambitious goals.

SAP and UNICEF have announced its global collaboration, as part of Generation Unlimited, to provide quality education, life skills, and job skills training to young people in disadvantaged communities, preparing them for decent work and active citizenship. The partnership aims to reach out to the youth across Africa, Asia, and Europe, with initial efforts focused on India, Turkey, and Vietnam.

In support of Generation Unlimited, SAP and UNICEF will co-create solutions for quality education and job skills for young people in underserved communities. Generation Unlimited engages the youth as it brings together multisector public and private investment in education and employment.

The official announcement of the three-year partnership was made at the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Businesses, governments, and non-governmental organizations will be working together as part of the initiative to build sustainable education models with a focus on workforce inclusion initiatives to help young people thrive, and provide organisations with a prepared workforce.

UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore said:

“For young people, the path to a successful future goes through quality education that equips them – and empowers them – with the skills they need to thrive in today’s workforce.”

Fore added:

“Young people are some of the world’s best creatives, enthusiasts and thinkers. We are excited to work with SAP to harness young people’s energy and ideas, and help them contribute to their economies and societies.”

Recognising the need for specialised skills in today’s rapidly changing economy, the collaboration intends to develop a standardized national curriculum, workforce readiness programmes, and in-depth research to better inform and connect the private sector with future talent. According to statistics, more than 1 in 5 young people today are neither in employment, education or training.

By 2030, about 2 billion youth around the world will be seeking employment and the companies and communities must prepare to sustainably integrate them into the workforce.

SAP CEO Bill McDermott stated that the opportunity gap in this new economy has made people concerned. He explained:

“Businesses need to take meaningful steps to upskill the current and future workforce, regardless of their age or where they live in the world. Together with UNICEF, SAP will focus on starting in the classroom where the foundation for every career is built. We will increase collaboration with the public sector and focus on the best possible curriculum to prepare future workers. This is another example where doing what’s right and doing what’s right for business are in perfect harmony.”
