CP Vietnam Corporation (CP Vietnam), an overseas operation of CP Foods, intends to increase employee engagement and maximise the benefits of its investment in human resources (HR) technology with the help of the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite.

Nguyen Hong Viet, Managing Director at SAP Vietnam, believes that in today’s modern economy, it is no longer a luxury for a company to have an integrated and real-time HCM system; rather, it is an important component of the infrastructure of any enterprise. He said that CP Vietnam, which recently revealed that it has embarked on an HR digital transformation journey with SAP SuccessFactors solutions, will be able to improve transparency and access to relevant employee data for greater decision-making.

“This will result in higher employee productivity, lower turnover rate, and better upskilling capabilities so that the entire workforce can become competent and ready for global expansion opportunities,” he further added.

The implementation of the project is estimated to take between six and eight months, and it is scheduled to become operational in the beginning of 2023. CP Vietnam views this endeavour as a large-scale strategic project that will enhance the company’s HCM and development efforts in the years to come.

Moreover, Nguyen noted that SAP is delighted to support CP Vietnam in realising their “Kitchen of the World” vision by ensuring that their customers receive food that is of the highest quality in terms of nutrition, hygiene, and safety, all while adhering to environmentally friendly manufacturing standards and principles of sustainable management. Last March, the agro-industrial and food conglomerate also teamed up with local partners in the country’s seafood supply chain to accelerate sustainability efforts at Vung Tau sea.

Leveraging SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Since 1993, CP Vietnam has grown into one of the country’s top food conglomerates, spanning cattle and aquaculture ventures. The events of the global COVID-19 pandemic have struck numerous businesses, including CP Vietnam. With this, the company established  a strategy to secure its business operations, uphold its social responsibility, and manage its workforce of 30,000 individuals.

In order to adjust to the new circumstances, the business made the decision to become digital. This move included supporting the modernisation of HR into automated and data-driven operations while integrating best practices and standards from across the world. Chinoros Benjachavakul, Senior Vice President in charge of Human Resources and External Relations at CP Vietnam, said that the current state of the market presents agricultural businesses with an excellent opportunity to enter the digital world, play catch-up with the trends that are prevalent among global corporations, and streamline their operational and management activities.

The SAP SuccessFactors project being undertaken by CP Vietnam encompasses the full range of HR business operations and employee experience modules, including the following:

  • Recruiting
  • Onboarding
  • Learning
  • Performance and Goal
  • Succession Planning & Career Development
  • Workforce Analytics
  • Planning

Modern user interface and embedded interaction capabilities are all features of the cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors solutions that will help CP Vietnam boost user adoption, engagement, and staff collaboration. According to CP Vietnam Director of HR Strategy Chanin Ruethaithananon, the business has greatly cut down on complexity by unifying its HR procedures on a single platform that is intuitive and easy to access thanks to the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite.

“This will increase transparency and access to employee data for better insights and decision-making and enable CP Vietnam to have a new strategy and vision for the digital era, to help the company achieve the set goals and lay the foundation for greater digital transformation later. Creating a more productive and engaging workforce promoting employee growth and happiness that management and employees are united under one company culture,” he explained.
