Cloud4C Services Pte. Ltd. has forged a new alliance with Google Cloud to build a Center of Excellence (CoE) following last year’s global Silver Partnership with SNP Schneider-Neureither & Partner SE (the SNP Group) to accelerate enterprises’ adoption of SAP S/4HANA in the cloud.

Singapore-based Cloud4C has been expanding its market footprint in the Asia Pacific region not only as an end-to-end cloud-managed services provider but also as an SAP technology partner. As a cloud evolution partner, the cloud solutions expert even developed an SAP ERP specific Cloud Framework benchmarked against SAP metrics on multi-cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to help enterprises accelerate digitalisation while managing compliance.

As a natural progression for Cloud4C’s mission to deliver ‘Total Control of Cloud’ to enterprise customers embarking on digital transformation, the company has partnered with Google Cloud to build a Center of Excellence (CoE) underpinned by SAP and Anthos technologies. The new venture adds to Cloud4C’s 21 CoEs spread across 25 countries supported by over 2,000 cloud experts.

Sharing about the Google Cloud collaboration, Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of Cloud4C said:

“Our customers can leverage the best of Google Cloud’s offerings in a secure manner with reduced capital investment and improved value delivery,” said Sridhar Pinnapureddy, founder and CEO of Cloud4C.

The CoE will serve as a multi-disciplinary customer showcase hub, developing and delivering solutions for high efficiency and reliability. Rapid deployment of SAP applications through Anthos by Google Cloud will additionally contribute to lowering carbon footprint.”

Expanding Cloud4C Services in India

SAP technologies and Anthos by Google Cloud are expected to further Cloud4C’s cloud capabilities through the CoE, which will address enterprises’ challenges in transitioning from deployment to implementation and adoption. Mainly focused on India, the CoE will harness the provider’s expanded SAP services portfolio as businesses modernise mission-critical IT infrastructure and applications. Furthermore, Google Cloud’s open platform Anthos will help customers as they modernise apps while building cloud-native apps within a Google Cloud environment.

Emphasising the extensive impact of the Cloud4C-Google Cloud partnership for enterprises in India, Amitabh Jacob, Head of Partners and Alliances across India at Google Cloud said:

“Together with Cloud4C, we will offer organisations a clear path to build, run, and manage their critical SAP workloads on hybrid and multi-cloud environments with full flexibility, agility, and security.”

The collaboration combines Cloud4C’s expertise on SAP applications including SAP S/4HANA implementation and Google Cloud’s Anthos’ hybrid functionality as an open platform. Based on the Cloud Services Platform, Anthos allows enterprises to run their applications unmodified, on existing on-prem hardware investments or in the public cloud.

With multi-cloud SAP support and centralised policy management, the CoE will also enable customers to deploy artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and analytics solutions at scale.

Knoa Software, a New York City-based user experience management company, expressed support for SAP S/4 HANA migrations using its deployments.

Yahoo Finance reported that Knoa Software, one of the leading providers of user experience management (UEM) software. The company has announced in early February that they will be supporting the SAP S/4 HANA migrations and maintaining the momentum for the SAP User Experience Management. It will be done through cloud-based Knoa deployments. The support provided by Knoa later resulted in a boost in cloud revenue for the company.

Customers have confirmed that they have received a return on investment (ROI) and have also documented their success.

One of their successful deployments includes the AES Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. AES Corporation’s business involves the generation and distribution of electricity on a global scale.

At the ASUG held on October 3, 2019, AES has shared how they leveraged the SAP User Experience Management application by Knoa, which was running on SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, in accelerating the migration of its existing ERP systems to SAP S/4 HANA. It has helped AES in building the foundation for its digital transformation project.

AES Corporation needed an advanced analytics application that will help them define their migration priorities. They also needed an efficient tool to isolate existing redundancies and to enforce standards that will govern the new system. Following the migration, the company shared how they have streamlined their deployment time, reduced and managed costs, and boosted user adoption.

Another company that benefited from the Knoa deployments is AGL, electricity, gas, solar, and renewable energy specialist based in Australia. Their customer base includes homes and businesses.

AGL’s energy accounts make up approximately 20{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of Australia’s electricity generation. The company utilise data-driven insights in developing employee training and improving customer interactions for its business applications.

Recently, a premier global market intelligence firm, IDC, leveraged the SAP UEM by Knoa in conducting an extensive study of organisations. In their study, they showed how organisations achieved significant ROI for their business with SAP UEM by Knoa. Some of the results include five months of payback period, 30{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} more efficient management of business processes, and 15{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} average gross productivity gain.

The CEO of Knoa, Brian Berns, shared that SAP UEM by Knoa continues to drive the productivity of employees and facilitate SAP S/4 HANA migrations. They also want to continue supporting SAP’s focus on experience management.

Berns proudly shared how their customers have confirmed the value of the Knoa solution and have shared their excitement following Knoa’s validation.

He also added:

“The SAP S/4HANA customer base is extensive, so we hope to see significant growth in 2020.”

SAP UEM by Knoa aims to deliver enterprises complete visibility of employee interactions with the SAP enterprise software for enterprises. It highlights the application usage, measures user adoption, and engagement levels, and also provides insights to improve process and workflow.

This efficient tool has helped organisations from various industries and locations as they make a move to the SAP S/4 HANA and the SAP HANA database.

SAP S/4 HANA removes the common obstacles associated with legacy ERP applications, such as batch latency, complex landscapes and manually driven processes. It has been designed to operate exclusively on SAP’s proprietary HANA in-memory database and therefore is intended to significantly improve overall system performance.

This huge architectural change has meant that the application can be redesigned to simplify processing steps. For example, the SAP ECC Finance module relied on many different tables to separate headers, line item details and supporting master data attributes, which made for a very complex data model.

With SAP S/4 HANA, the database is able to cope with greater data volumes and complexity within single tables or views. So the volume of tables and structures are simplified. This should therefore make reporting easier, and as such increase the transparency of information. This simplifies the landscape options, as it means that there is the opportunity to consolidate the system landscape.

Now there is no need for separate SAP Advanced Planning and Optimisation (APO) or Business Warehouse systems, as you have the HANA database. Also, by mandating SAP HANA as the database, you’ll further reduce the complexity of your deployment options, while presenting a cost saving opportunity through the removal of separately licensed third-party databases.

Despite this code base change, there are familiar aspects to SAP S/4 HANA. The table structure is flatter, but the majority of the standard SAP ECC tables still exist. From the user interface perspective, there is still an ABAP user interface, which looks and behaves in a very similar manner to SAP ECC. However, this is intended for use by administrators only. For end users, the intention is to use the SAP Fiori user interface.

With S/4 HANA, SAP has also recognised that customers are expecting more agile deployment approaches, so they have also offered different implementation scenarios to align more with a cloud deployment model. As such, SAP S/4 HANA is available as a traditional on-premise solution but there is also a version available as a public cloud option. There is also a managed cloud option to provide the middle ground

SAP S/4 HANA has been designed with simplicity in mind, although that is generally intended for the end-users, rather than implementers, systems integrators or administrators. From a security perspective, you can expect significant involvement in an SAP S/4 HANA implementation, as there are some fundamental changes to the way in which these simple processes are delivered to users.

Download the rest of this guide to gain a practical understanding of the new security considerations that come with implementing SAP S/4 HANA – helping you side-step the mistakes of the previous ERP implementations.
