This year’s edition of the SAP Dare to Dream Awards, in collaboration with Zee Business, aim to celebrate the innovative leaders who have set benchmarks for the MSME industry in India through the use of the latest technologies.
Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) are sometimes referred to as the “growth engine of India” because of their importance in contributing to the country’s economic development and expediting the advent of “Amrit Kaal” in the country. Nowadays, MSMEs create more employment opportunities than any other sector. One third of India’s gross domestic product (GDP) is driven by this industry, making it a major force in economic expansion and job creation.
There has been an uptick in the number of MSMEs considering going digital as a means of survival, recovery, and growth in the post-pandemic setting globally. In India, SAP has launched a program called Global Bharat in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the NASSCOM Foundation, and the Pratham InfoTech Foundation to support the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by providing cutting-edge digital technologies and significant financial backing to the industry.
Meanwhile, the MSME champions who are using a “digital mindset” to create good social impact, seize new possibilities, and prepare for the future are being recognized and celebrated at the SAP Dare to Dream Awards 2022. The awards, which are given out in conjunction with Zee Business, are meant to serve as a source of morale-boosting inspiration for the MSME industry in India.
Rajeev Singh, Vice President of Midmarket and Emerging Business at SAP Indian Subcontinent, stated:
“Indian MSMEs and its business leaders hold power to transform not just India’s economy but also the lives of billions of Indians. They account for 27% of the total contribution to India’s GDP, with considerable headroom for growth. As we celebrate 75 years of India’s independence, we are gearing up for the next big leap that is being shaped by pioneers of the new India.”
The fourth annual Dare to Dream Awards will be given out this year in honor of the Indian businesses who showed resilience in the face of industry change and ultimately emerged stronger for it. The program has encouraged corporate leaders to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of business and utilize advanced technologies to turn failure into success.
This year’s celebration will focus on the “next huge leap” taken by India’s pioneer innovators. At the awards ceremony, guests can expect to see many of the most influential people in business as well as other seasoned experts in the field during lectures, debates, and panel discussions. The awards will be presented o n November 16th, 2022, in Mumbai’s The Taj Lands’ End where MSMEs are expected to be ready to lead India in 2047.
Honoring Digital Champions of the MSME Sector in India
SAP Indian President and Managing Director Kulmeet Bawa explained that since its inception, SAP India has worked hand in hand with national development initiatives that have had a profound effect on the lives of more than 300 million Indians. He shared:
“We have always believed in the combined strength of India’s mid-market and have promoted their development, whether it is serving as the technology partner to develop a workforce of the future, being a trusted advisor to the SME community, or boosting the nation’s innovation ecosystem.
Last April, SAP India’s “cloud on wheels” program called Transformation Express was launched to provide mid-market businesses with access to cutting-edge tools, innovations, and get access to hands-on experience with cloud computing. For 45 days, the “Transformation Express” bus crisscrossed the country to show MSMEs how to better anticipate and adapt to changing business needs by using a digital core in the cloud.
During the latest SAP Dare to Dream Awards, there will be nearly 50 accolades given out over 12 categories to highlight the exemplary work of prominent business leaders. The jury consists of well-known figures in the field and leaders in business who have been at the forefront of innovation, digitalization, and customer acquisition will be honored.
“This programme aims to recognize and honor all business heroes leading us towards the development of the New India,” Bawa commented.
Also commenting on the 2022 initiative, Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi concluded:
“The success of MSMEs in linking Bharat to India is one of the lesser told stories of India Inc. The Dare to Dream initiative launched in association with SAP is a testament to these extraordinary stories empowering millions of Indians through job creation and entrepreneurship. With this, we hope there’s more recognition and appreciation for unheard voices.”
