BP Waterworks Inc., founded in 1993, provides more than 40 million liters of water daily to about 60,000 homes, catering to 59 flourishing communities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
BP Waterworks Inc., an ISO-certified company that provides customized solutions for various community planners and delivers quality water services in households across the Philippines, and its wholly-owned subsidiary tapped SAP to support its financial information systems. Through SAP, the company aims to achieve significant gains in providing accurate, insightful, and timely information to the organization’s decision-makers and to keep pace with the growing demands of serving and nurturing a growing portfolio of consumers nationwide.
The implementation, known as “Project Splash”, will leverage SAP Business ByDesign, a single cloud ERP solution for fast-growing, mid-market businesses that allows businesses to scale and compete without the complexity and cost. It will be implemented by Service 101 Consulting, a Philippine-based IT software and services company specialising in deploying web/mobile solutions, implementing ERP systems, delivering technical support thru outsourcing engagement, and providing technology governance consulting.
The objective of the project is to improve the flow of information within and across companies, divisions, projects, warehouses and offices located in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao and to integrate data flow, transaction processing, and reporting functional areas of finance, sales, and operations.
Viqui Fernandez, CEO of BP Waterworks Inc., said:
“The business was easier to manage back when we only had about 29,000 consumers and based largely in Cavite. But since we expanded to other areas like Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Pampanga with consumers reaching 67,000, we were faced with the stark reality that our infrastructure was inadequate to support our current needs.”
To the CEO, the need for the organization to evolve not only meets the demands of customers, Board of Directors, and government regulators but more importantly, it innovation meets the company’s need for timely and informed decision-making.
“I felt a compelling need to upgrade our current ERP system to reach our goals and aspirations as an organization. We were getting bigger and, yet, our support systems could not keep up as much as I wanted. We needed an upgrade-a big upgrade. With SAP ByDesign, I expect to bring a new generation of robust computing into our transaction processing, analyzing, and reporting. Using a cloud platform, I envision a quicker flow of information across our locations all over the country. I also expect to reap the benefits of increased accuracy, timeliness, valuable insight, increased accountability, tighter controls, increased efficiency, improved customer service, and, overall, a better way of managing information and financial processes. Lastly, with this investment in SAP ByDesign, we have set the stage for stabilizing our ERP system. We will now have more flexibility to adapt to the future,” said Georg Simon Bragas, CFO of BP Waterworks Inc.
“Corporate leaders should provide their growing companies with advanced solutions to expand properly in the digital landscape and achieve their goals effectively while delivering customer expectations. We are excited for BP Waterworks as they begin to integrate SAP Business ByDesign to help them run better projects and become a part of the rising intelligent enterprises in the country,” Edler Panlilio, Managing Director of SAP Philippines said.
