With SAP’s cutting-edge technology and ABeam Consulting Thailand’s expertise, Bangkok Glass Public Company Limited (BG) is set to achieve its growth objectives and better serve its clients by leveraging SAP ERP software capabilities.

Taking a significant step towards achieving its digital transformation goals, BG partnered with SAP and ABeam Consulting Thailand. The partnership is aimed at accelerating BG’s digital transformation journey, and one of the most notable projects in this regard is the migration to SAP S/4HANA, SAP’s next-generation ERP software. The migration to SAP S/4HANA will also be done through ‘RISE with SAP,’ a comprehensive solution designed to fuel the company’s growth and better serve its clients.

Furthermore, BG’s long-standing partnership with SAP has proven to be fruitful, and the latest milestone in this collaboration is a testament to the success of their joint efforts. The partnership also aims to revolutionize critical business areas, including finance, parts supply, warehousing, supply chain, and production, by bringing together the tools businesses need to pursue their digital transformation objectives.

As part of the expanded partnership, ABeam Consulting Thailand, a trusted implementation partner, will undertake the migration work to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition in Microsoft Azure cloud. This move is aimed at achieving better efficiency, faster digitalization, and comprehensive solutions in the future.

Moving Towards a Data-Driven Business with SAP ERP Software

Known for its commitment to technology and innovation, BG aims to remain at the forefront of the industry with SAP ERP software. BG plans to create an intelligent business network that includes customers, suppliers, and partners to streamline digitalization and provide accurate and timely information. The adoption of these technologies is essential to support BG’s rapid growth and respond effectively to the ever-changing business environment.

According to Silparat Watthanakasetr, CEO of BG Container Glass PCL., a subsidiary of BG, investing in technology that enables flexibility and scalability is crucial to meet customer expectations in competitive markets. The company intends to become a data-driven business with a line of connected smart factories that require mature analytical processing capabilities on Cloud, including advanced technologies such as Cloud, Big Data, AI, and machine learning.

To achieve its goals, BG believes that a modern database and a robust ERP system on Cloud are crucial for smart factories. As such, the company has selected RISE with SAP to transition from SAP S/4HANA on-premise to a Cloud-based ERP system as their digital core. The legacy ERP system was no longer suitable for the company’s current size and anticipated business needs, making a cloud-based solution the preferred choice.

Leveraging SAP Solutions on Microsoft Azure Cloud

BG is aiming to achieve greater efficiency, agility, and innovation by integrating machines, people, and Big Data into a single, digitally connected ecosystem using SAP solutions on Microsoft Azure cloud. Through this integration, BG also intends to leverage data sets to forecast trends and events and recommend and implement smart manufacturing workflows and automated processes. The ultimate goal is to better serve customers and drive growth across the company.

Silparat Watthanakasetr further explained that their objective is to establish an intelligent digital supply chain and Industry 4.0 solutions in the cloud and at the edge. By using SAP solutions on Microsoft Azure cloud, BG hopes to achieve its goal of becoming a data-driven business powered by a line of connected smart factories.

Moreover, BG’s endorsement of ERP cloud migration in Microsoft Azure is a testament to the positive collaboration between SAP and its hyperscaler cloud provider. The partnership between SAP and Microsoft will simplify migration and increase BG’s confidence in running its digital enterprises in the cloud. By migrating to the cloud, BG will also be able to design and operate intelligent digital supply chains and Industry 4.0 solutions in a more efficient and innovative way.

Commenting on the recently expanded partnership, Atul Tuli, Managing Director of SAP Indochina, noted that the collaboration will allow BG to expedite its cloud-based business transformation and drive its future expansion. He added:

“As a result, BG will be positioned to provide the highest value of support and flexibility to its clients, allowing them to simplify and accelerate their business transformations while benefitting from the full value of RISE with SAP, and we are pleased to partner with BG on this full-scale modernization project.”
