Registrations are open for the SAP Australian User Group (SAUG) 12th annual National Summit, to be held in Sydney at the Hilton Hotel on 5 and 6 September 2016. As one of Australia’s largest SAP-centric events attracting over 500 delegates, this is the must-attend event in ANZ for SAP professionals and industry experts.
SAUG CEO Mark Baker shares insights into what we can expect this year.
How is the 2016 Summit different to last year’s event?
Mark Baker: This year’s agenda reflects a growing sophistication in how SAP technology and the SAP Australian User Group have evolved. There will be great content from a broad range of speakers over the two days. In fact, we have 60 presenters in more than 70 breakout sessions including case studies, best practise and road mapping sessions, mini workshops and demonstrations to share knowledge and experiences. A dedicated one-day User Experience/Fiori stream featuring leading international experts is a major bonus and will help delegates create the best SAP UX from strategy to implementation and optimisation. In addition to the UX/Fiori stream, we’ll also be running mini workshops on Solution Manager, NetWeaver and IT Security as well as practical technical sessions to really boost SAP learning.
Who should attend?
MB: SAUG Summit delegates can choose from 12 streams over two days covering Technology, HR, HCM, Financials, Customer and Supplier, Optimising SAP and more – so this event is for a broad range of organisations and staff using SAP products and services. We have asked members from different departments and business functions and what they have told us is that they are interested in hot topics like S/4HANA Finance, Digital Customer Platforms, HCP, Integration, IoT, Machine Learning, Solution Manager 7.2, New Reporting Standards and Predictive Analytics. This means there will be valuable content for everyone. Additionally, there will be case studies from many leading organisations who will tell it like it is, so delegates will learn from their experiences, the challenges and successes and what they should do differently.
Who are the big-hitting international speakers coming to Australia for the SAUGSummit?
MB: We are absolutely chuffed to include some of SAP’s leading experts on this year’s agenda. We’ll host a number of leading international experts including Michael Falk – global chief product expert – UX, SAP SE (Germany) – who is one of the leading experts and thought leaders on SAP UX and Fiori and who will give SAUG Summit delegates a thorough understanding of what is happening to SAP UX and how they create a best practice strategy.
Hala Zeine, global senior vice president of SAP Portfolio will give valuable insights into where SAP solutions are headed, what new solutions are coming and what SAP customers should do to stay ahead. Ray Wang (USA) who is one of the world’s leading advisers and strategists on everything SAP will show delegates without fear or favour what is happening with SAP and digital disruption.
What customer speakers are going to share their knowledge?
MB: We had a great response to this year’s ‘call for customer speakers’ with over 30 customers from leading Australian organisations including Woolworths, DuluxGroup, Lion, GHD, Hydro Tasmania, Australian Taxation Office and many more sharing with us how they optimised their SAP systems. As an independent member-based industry association, we always put our 4000+ members first.
SAUG members want to learn from other member organisations and we are excited to have so many organisations wanting to get involved. One of our most important resources are our 26 Special Interest Groups (SIG) which are run by volunteer ordinary members. Their input into what issues and topics are important to them and their community members are critical components of the SAUG Summit agenda. Many of our SIG leaders will be attending the SAUG Summit to facilitate sessions, meet members and talk to potential members about the benefits of participating in the SIGs.
