Top Japanese Companies Leveraging SAP Software Products Recognised

In the recently released SAP Global Communications, it was reported that 99 of the 100 largest companies worldwide have selected SAP while 85 of the 100 largest companies have become SAP S/4HANA customers.

In Japan, SAP recognises outstanding customers that embark on a modernisation journey leveraging SAP applications and advocate for digital transformation within and outside the organisation through the annual SAP Japan Customer Awards. 

Top 8 Companies Leveraging SAP Software Products

Eight customers were recognised across eight categories for their breakthrough digital transformation leveraging various SAP software applications and services in the recently announced SAP Japan Customer Awards 2021. Three new categories were added in the awarding event namely SAP Concur, Mid-Market, and Transformation.

Okinawa City: Japan Society Category

In partnership with LINE corporation, Okinawa City implemented–for the first time in Japan– Qualtrics solutions and SAP Vaccine Collaboration Hub (VCH) to help manage the COVID-19 vaccination of its 11,000 citizens. The successful rollout of VCH resulted in better vaccine compliance and engagement with the people.

Aizu Sangyo Network Forum: Innovation Category 

Leveraging SAP S/4HANA, the company developed a Connected Manufacturing Enterprises (CMEs) platform for SMEs in the manufacturing industries that helped them achieve a significant 25{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} increase in productivity by standardising and automating internal business operations.

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation: Japan Industry 4.0 Category

The company partnered with SAP Japan Labs for the SAP Industry 4.Now Hub TOKYO showcase that featured how FA robots, sequencers, industrial PCs, MES (manufacturing execution system), ERP, and E-Commerce can bolster digital transformation in the manufacturing industry.

Shiseido Co., Ltd.: Cloud Adoption Category

The company deployed SAP SuccessFactors to standardise personnel processes as part of Shiseido’s digitalisation. By adopting the SAP solution, the company’s global workforce was able to embrace the “PEOPLE FIRST” management principle as well as aggregate data and enhance governance control– essentially driving efficiency in global report creation.

Seibu Group: SAP Concur Category

The Japanese holding company that owns Seibu Railway and Seibu Bus has adopted SAP Concur to enhance employee experience, drive efficiency in operations, promote paperless transactions, and incorporate tax reforms to 33 out of its 45 companies in two years. 

Fujitsu Limited: Experience Management Category

In partnership with SAP-owned Qualtrics, the company rolled out the VOICE programme under the company-wide modernisation project Fujitsu Transformation to get the pulse of the employees and customers. In about a month of implementation, disparate indicators were unified and an NPS survey was conducted in over 30 countries– exemplifying the company’s transparency and intention to act on pressing employee concerns.

SOLIZE Corporation: Mid-Market Category

Supported by information technology company SIGMAXYZ Inc., SOLIZE adopted SAP S/4HANA cloud as part of its digital transformation strategy. Through SAP’s cloud-based solution, the engineering company was able to modernise its core and accounting system, enhance competitive management processes, and focus on operations powered by data for better field-management engagement. In addition, business integration, legal revisions, and new business responses such as new revenue recognition standards were realised with the adoption of SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

ITOCHU Corporation: Transformation Category 

Implementing SAP S / 4HANA Cloud as part of its global expansion project, the Japanese corporation known for domestic and overseas trading has eliminated existing modifications, achieved a 90{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} reduction on add-on functions, developed an ideal platform, and is continuously striving for business process automation.

SAP Japan intends to realise its medium- to long-term vision up to 2032 by being an indispensable partner for customer success and driver of digital transformation in the country.
