SAP Business One Software solution gives SMEs total control to scale growth by providing a complete set of tools to help them efficiently manage processes, from accounting and financials to purchasing and inventory management.

Prime Health Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of nutritional supplements from Canada, has selected SAP Business One software to deliver operational efficiencies to back its fast-growing market footprint in the country, North America, Asia, and Latin America. The company tapped ProjectLine Solutions Inc., an SAP Gold Partner and a leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation and support partner for small and midsize businesses in Canada, to deliver the solution with a team of seasoned ERP consultants.

Prime Health is embarking on an ERP modernisation project centred on streamlining and enhancing inventory management and traceability across production processes. SAP Business One is anticipated to enable the Canadian manufacturing company centralise business data under a single, integrated, and customasible solution. In a single system, the company will be able to track ingredients while fulfilling industry requirements and comply with ease.

SAP Business One Software as a Total Solution

Designed for small and midsize enterprise’s needs, the SAP Business One application offers an affordable way for businesses to take control over their entire business operations– such as accounting, purchasing, inventory management, sales, project management, and HR– in a single view. Aside from streamlining processes, the solution empowers SMEs with greater insight into their business to help them make informed and timely decisions to accelerate profitable growth.

Moreover, SAP’s software for SMEs is flexible, modular, and has a user-friendly interface, making the platform simple yet powerful. SAP Business One runs on both the SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL server platforms and can be deployed on-premise and on private cloud, giving businesses ERP deployment options that suit their needs.

Commenting about the enterprise’s decision to leverage SAP Business One, Ying Li, Accountant at Prime Health, said:

“SAP Business One provides us a total solution for sales, purchases, batch manufacturing, warehouse management, accounting, budgeting, and more.”

“All team members at ProjectLine are customer-oriented, eager to learn and listen to our needs, with great patience and professionalism. It has been a very pleasant and excellent experience,” Li further explained about tapping ProjectLine Solutions as the implementation partner.

Expressing enthusiasm about the project, Darrell McClarty, ProjectLine President, stated:

“We’re excited to welcome Prime Health to the ProjectLine family. Like ProjectLine, they’re a company that’s focused on the customer. We look forward to supporting the Prime Health team as they continue to grow.”

Saskatoon-based ProjectLine Solutions has been an SAP Gold Partner since 2004.

SAP in Healthcare

The latest partnership of Prime Health, ProjectLine, and SAP is just one of the recent examples of how SAP has been an active innovator in the healthcare industry, leveraging intelligent technologies and applications to help organisations keep pace with the evolving industry needs.

In the US, leading multinational pharmaceutical research company Boehringer Ingelheim has also recently forged a co-innovation alliance with the German enterprise giant to develop a smart app that would track, trace, and check the authenticity of prescription drugs in the country. To be used by U.S. law enforcement officials, the smart app is designed to scan the 2D barcode on Boehringer Ingelheim-manufactured life-enhancing medications and authenticate them before reaching the end-users, the patients.

Sharing about the new smart app, Matt Laukaitis, SAP’s global GM for Consumer Industries, said:

“The law enforcement smart app utilises SAP’s scalable and secure blockchain solution for manufacturers to drastically improve the pharmaceutical supply chain from start to finish. As this app demonstrates, vertical industry expertise is a critical success factor in delivering innovations to protect patients and ensure access to authentic, life-enhancing medicines.”

The smart app adds to the efforts of SAP to stop the distribution of counterfeit products through SAP Information Collaboration Hub for Life Sciences, a a cloud-based network solution powered by blockchain-technology used to authenticate pharmaceutical packaging distributed in the US.

SAP TechTalk shines a spotlight on SAP in the healthcare industry in a three-part webinar series starting on 19th August 2020.

Today, more than ever, the healthcare industry has relied on technology including COVID-19 contact-tracing, providing a stable medical supply chain, and adapting telehealth as well as remote monitoring of patients. To help the industry become a resilient and intelligent enterprise during these trying times, SAP TechTalk will be hosting a three-part webinar series to be held weekly from 19 August to 3 September.

Martin Burger, SAP’s Healthcare Go-To-Market Lead for Asia Pacific and China shared:

“In the past, hospitals never got the attention and budgets they deserve.”

Burger explained that the hospitals’ current finance system including funding approvals could be better with a sustainable solution. He said:

“Once the situation normalises, hospitals will have to check their finances.”

Hospitals have to closely monitor their costs, understand exactly where costs occur and what options there are to reduce costs or optimise them, without compromising quality of care,” he added.

SAP in Healthcare

In the upcoming webinar series, the SAP will be sharing experiences from across the industry on how the German company can help the healthcare industry drive value-based case by being an intelligent enterprise.

Part 1: Integrated electronic medical record system for hospitals, 19th August

This webinar will touch on the inefficiencies in hospitals caused by isolated systems for finance, inventory, patient billing, pharmacy, clinician orders among others. These, essentially, affect the total patient experience.

In this webinar, participants will be able to get insights on how SAP addresses these concerns through an Electronic Medical Record system that is integrated with patient billing and ERP. SAP experts will share the importance of having an experienced healthcare implementation partner in ensuring a successful project.

Part 2: Driving better healthcare outcomes through analytics, 26th August

SAP will feature its analytics suite of products that address challenges such as overwhelming data volumes in diverse healthcare systems and receiving real-time analytics. Experts will share how hospitals can leverage health analytics through pre-defined healthcare models for optimal choices for patients.

Burger explained:

“Traditional analytics solutions only look at historical data. It was assumed you have to always ask the same question.”

With predictive analytics, doctors can get more insights into possible outcomes almost instantly.

This webinar will also touch on how it is possible to derive data insights easily without a data scientist.

Part 3: Gaining granular insights into healthcare costs and profitability, 3rd September

SAP experts will delve into how hospitals can cope with increasing healthcare costs while maintaining profitability. This includes analysing their costs at a granular level such as cost per surgery, cost per diagnosis among many others to improve their bottom line.

SAP will also share how direct and indirect costs can be allocated using an activity-based costing model and simulate cost changes and their impact on profitability in this episode.

This webinar series reflects SAP’s vision to help the healthcare industry become an Intelligent Enterprise through innovative solutions that would be highly efficient at saving and improving lives, deliver a seamless patient experience, and ensure value-based care.
