The IBM Data Readiness Assessment with Syniti Knowledge Platform is the latest offering from tech companies IBM and Syniti to help customers in migrating to SAP S/4HANA with a clean data foundation.

In October 2021, SAP and IBM collaborated for the launch of BREAKTHROUGH with IBM — IBM’s complementary solution to the German tech giant’s Business Transformation as a Service (BTaaS) milestone offering — which is a package of existing consulting services intended to help enterprises advance their journeys to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, an intelligent enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The BREAKTHROUGH with IBM for RISE with SAP offering includes key components that are meant to help expedite the migration to SAP S/4HANA. These features include an improved data quality evaluation, translation, process optimization, and code or infrastructure upgrade.

This month, data management software and services company Syniti partnered with IBM in launching a new solution called IBM Data Readiness Assessment with Syniti Knowledge Platform which contributes to the common objective of speeding digital transformation and fostering continuous innovation by laying a foundation of clean and high-quality data. The two companies believe that the key to a successful transformation project is having a solid understanding of the quality status of data as well as its level of completion before moving to SAP S/4HANA.

According to them, customers have the ability to measure the required services and amount of time in order to maximize performance and potentially cut costs on required cloud infrastructure. Allan Coulter, Global Chief Technology Officer for SAP Services at IBM, explained that to ensure a smooth transition to SAP S/4HANA, companies must have full confidence that they are working with data of the highest possible quality. He added:

“Through our work with Syniti we can bring to our clients a solution that enables them to better prepare for adopting SAP S/4HANA with modernized code, process and data capabilities that drive the foundation for continuous innovation.”

Simplifying the Steps to Migrating to SAP S/4HANA

The Syniti Knowledge Platform is a centralized and unified solution that provides assistance for the data management strategy of an organization, including the management of compliance and data optimization, as well as the transition to SAP S/4HANA. Last year, Syniti was placed as a Visionary in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Solutions and was designated in the 2021 Master Data Management and 2020 Metadata Management reports — made possible by the firm’s Syniti Knowledge Platform which provides services to a strong Global 2000 client base and major alliance partners.

Noting that having a clean core necessitates having clean data, Rex Ahlstrom, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Growth and Innovation at Syniti, mentioned that the company successfully completed the migration of thousands of businesses to SAP systems over the course of the last decade. Commenting on Syniti’s partnership with IBM, he stated:

“Working with IBM, we’ll be able to help more customers prepare for their migration to SAP S/4HANA easily to help ensure data integrity – setting them up for success with future digital transformation efforts.”

Customers can have the following benefits when implementing the IBM Data Readiness Assessment with Syniti Knowledge Platform:

  • A platform that helps speed up initiatives, including ones that are currently in progress, and that also reduces the risk associated with several projects.
  • A solution that covers every aspect of the process from beginning to end and that utilizes all of the rules provided by the digital platform in order to speed up and automate the migration.
  • Pre-built data quality analyses and dashboards accessible to help identify efficiency gains, cashflow, and profit and loss (P&L) improvements.

Thrilled to be expanding Syniti’s collaboration with IBM, Kevin Campbell, Chief Executive Officer at Syniti, said that they are eager to strengthen their work with IBM, particularly in regard to the mission-critical imperative of beginning with reliable, high-quality data. He added:

“Leveraging the innovation and transformation expertise of IBM with the proven capabilities of the Syniti Knowledge Platform will deliver a win-win to our joint customers looking to become intelligent enterprises.”

The latest business partnership between cbs Corporate Business Solutions (cbs) and Hitachi Ltd. aims to assist Japanese customers in migrating to SAP S/4HANA by supporting the renewal of core systems using the next-generation platform for digital transformation.

SAP’s Q3 financial results showed that 500 new clients have signed up for SAP S/4HANA, bringing the overall number of users to 17,500. The flagship enterprise resource planning (ERP) system by the German software giant — which is available in on-premises and cloud editions — intends to enable businesses in dealing with increased IT complexity, legacy applications, and customisations, as well as in addressing other challenges while moving databases and sustaining operations. In recent years, the solution has been evolving to fulfill the needs of organisations looking to improve their business processes.

Aiming to simplify the SAP S/4HANA migration process, the ISG Provider Lens Archetype report has found that SAP service providers are actively building new solutions that include frameworks, tools, and accelerators that use AI, machine learning (ML), and other technologies to assist customers in undergoing digital transformation. Furthermore, ISG indicated that providers looking to gain a competitive advantage and seize new opportunities in emerging industries are focusing on creating more industry-specific templates to back the adoption of SAP S/4HANA.

In Japan, several enterprises have already begun the process of migrating to SAP S/4HANA to accelerate their digital transformation journeys — shifting from highly-customised software solutions towards cloud-based IT workloads and the implementation of the SAP ERP solution with best practices content. The likes of Trusco Nakayama Corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation, and Mitsui and Co., Ltd. have leveraged the next-generation platform to enhance the efficiency and performance of their operational processes.

Committed to helping customers take advantage of SAP’s innovative solutions and orchestrate the Intelligent Enterprise strategy, SAP global technology partner Hitachi Ltd. and premium SAP consultancy cbs Corporate Business Solutions have recently announced a joint business partnership agreement to support the renewal of Japanese companies’ core systems using SAP S/4HANA.

Hitachi Ltd. and cbs Assist Japanese Customers in Migrating to SAP S/4HANA

Aside from using SAP extensively within the Hitachi Group since 1999, Tokyo-based IT firm Hitachi Ltd. has also been expanding its business as an SAP partner to deliver end-to-end SAP solutions for Japanese companies. Meanwhile, international business consulting company cbs utilises its portfolio of services and technological expertise to ensure globalisation and digital transformation are connected in the SAP landscape.

According to the statement released by the two companies, their new collaboration will deliver three key services including the formulation of concepts for the visualisation of management information, staged cloud migration and process transformation in preparation phase support for SAP S/4HANA migration, as well as the implementation stage of the SAP ERP solution.

Commenting on the latest partnership, Christian Ketterer, Representative and Sales Director for Japan and China at cbs Corporate Business Solutions Asia-Pacific (APAC), shared in a Linkedin post:

“I am very proud to announce our partnership with Hitachi Ltd. and am looking forward to jointly servicing our customers in Japan, APAC, and globally in their quest for digital transformation with SAP S/4HANA.”

With this alliance, Hitachi Ltd. and cbs will leverage their strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA along with solutions such as the customer collaborative creation methodology NEXPERIENCE, Lumada, cbs SAP S/4HANA Readiness Analysis, cbs Selective Data Migration proprietary tool, and cbs ET Enterprise Transformer for SAP S/4HANA to help Japanese customers make business platform transformation an opportunity to propel innovation and boost performance.
