In a bid to boost its global presence and SAP on AWS (Amazon Web Services) offerings, Syntax has recently announced that it has acquired Linke. The managed cloud provider for mission-critical application deployments plans to utilise the SAP tech consulting company’s expertise in migrating SAP environments to the AWS cloud.
In January 2019, Syntax made a similar strategic deal with German IT services provider Freudenberg IT to strengthen the company’s service offerings in the SAP market and further complement its existing business operations. The acquisition helped Syntax extend its reach in global locations it had initially targeted for growth, including Europe and Asia.
Syntax’s offices in the Asia-Pacific have been helping enterprises expand their operations by combining the flexibility and convenience of the cloud with reliable ERP solutions. In October 2020, Dr. Haihong Xin — renowned in the industry for his SAP and IT consulting experience throughout the APAC region for over 20 years — has been announced as the new CEO of Syntax Asia.
Dr. Xin, who has spent more than ten years at SAP in Development, Managed Services, and Consulting, now heads Syntax Asia’s team in delivering best-in-class technology services that include SAP consulting, Managed and Client Services, and Application Management Services (AMS).
Another proof of Syntax’s commitment to bringing comprehensive technology solutions to businesses of all sizes globally is its latest acquisition of Linke — a specialist in cloud consulting services with clients mainly from Spain, Europe, and the Middle East. In a statement, Syntax Global CEO Christian Primeau shared:
“Linke’s unmatched expertise in deploying, migrating, operating and automating enterprise applications — specifically SAP workloads — on AWS and dedication to customer success is well-known. This transaction represents an exciting opportunity for Syntax to further Linke’s impressive capabilities and help even more customers reach their cloud goals.”
Linke to Bolster Syntax’s SAP on AWS Capabilities
Adding to the growing list of major companies consolidating among their ranks, the acquisition of Linke aims to expand Syntax’s European client base while accessing new SAP on AWS capabilities at the same time. Since its establishment in 2010, Linke has already assisted numerous companies in navigating and implementing complex cloud migrations with its innovative and expert SAP and AWS solutions.
Throughout last year, Linke has strengthened its alliances with its two main partners, SAP and AWS. Linke has been recognised as an SAP-certified service provider of managed services across three aspects of SAP software and solutions including DevOps, hosting operations, and SAP HANA operations. Additionally, it has achieved SAP Gold Partner status — the highest category of the SAP PartnerEdge Program — in September.
Further commenting on the recently announced deal, Primeau said that Syntax could not have found a better company than Linke to reinforce its commitment to innovation, people, and customers with a similar mindset. He mentioned Linke’s focus is on migrating SAP applications in the AWS and Microsoft Azure public, private, and hybrid clouds. In an interview with CRN, he explained:
“It brings a strong portfolio of solutions for SAP pre-installed systems on the AWS Marketplace including SAP S/4HANA. If that’s not a unique offering, it’s very uncommon. Linke also brings AWS Connect to provide customers with direct access to AWS services directly from SAP.”
Meanwhile, Linke Co-Founder and CEO Chabier Sanvicente concluded:
“Over the past 10 years, we have established Linke as a leader in Europe for SAP on AWS environments, developing projects in 17 countries. Joining our expertise with Syntax will allow us to grow faster, accelerate our international expansion, improve the development and capacity for our solutions and expand our value proposition so our clients can transform and innovate their business.”
