Leading global tea producer VAHDAM India will use SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition to optimise all business processes as it prepares to expand its presence to other regions of the world.

VAHDAM India is one of the country’s fastest-growing home-grown brands. The company delivers India’s best teas, spices, and superfoods to more than three million customers in 130 countries including the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe. Last March, VAHDAM India came out with a new product called SPICE TRAIN, which is a selection of garden-fresh spices that have been imported directly from the country.

Aiming to accelerate growth and make its products even more accessible to consumers, VAHDAM India decided to leverage SAP’s cutting-edge cloud technology — particularly, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition. The leading wellness brand seeks to improve its operations with the help of the German enterprise software giant’s specialised portfolio of solutions for digital natives in order to advance its expansion plans, foster better business results, and provide an excellent customer experience (CX). It is now one of the increasing Indian enterprises that have embarked on their journey to the cloud through SAP digital transformation offerings to achieve resilience, increase agility, and improve production efficiency.

According to Bala Sarda, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at VAHDAM India, the company is thrilled to team up with SAP on its quest to leverage technological capabilities across mission-critical operations such as production, supply chain, and finance to boost efficiencies and establish a sustainable, intelligent enterprise for the longer term.

“We strive to take India’s finest tea, spices, and herbs to the world and the SAP suite will help us do this in a more effective manner,” he remarked.

Accelerating Growth with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition

VAHDAM India currently serves the United States as its core market, but the business has intentions to extend its operations on a global scale. With this, it will include additional geographic areas and delve more deeply into the ones it already serves. By partnering with the German tech giant, it will be provided with a single integrated platform by the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Suite, which will enable the company to vertically consolidate all of its business operations, including sales, procurement, and finances.

Moreover, the company’s SAP transformation project is aimed at managing the complexities of the company’s production and packaging processes in a way that is both more straightforward and intuitive. SAP solutions will support business processes with real-time data while also using embedded analytics to handle local statutory, manage financial reporting, and achieve better decision-making.

Sanket Deodhar, Vice President, TATA Group, Unicorn & Digital Natives, explained that in the world of start-up communities, innovation and agility have surfaced as two of the most important drivers of growth and transformation. He added:

“Due to the rapid transition from the digital age to the intelligence era, SAP India has been engaging with digital natives and other new-generation internet-led businesses that are mushrooming in the country.”

“VAHDAM India is truly putting India on the global stage, and we are honoured to help VAHDAM India solidify its foundation as an intelligent, sustainable company,” Deodhar stated.

In June last year, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which is a part of TATA Group, TCS strengthened its long-standing collaboration with SAP by announcing the business transformation services in support of RISE with SAP. Together, SAP and TCS intend to assist customers in accelerating their journey toward becoming an intelligent enterprise by utilising RISE with SAP and TCS’s portfolio of services.
