Matthew Goss, who was previously the Managing Director for SAP Concur Australia and New Zealand, has recently been promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager to lead the company’s operations in the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) and Greater China region.

The German enterprise software giant’s 2021 second-quarter financial report showed promising signs for the return of business travel with its Intelligent Spend Division — which houses SAP Concur, along with the SAP Ariba procurement platform and the SAP Fieldglass workforce management system — reporting quarter-over-quarter revenue stability for the first time since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020. In a statement, SAP said it had seen:

“The first signs of recovery in travel and expense management with the easing of global travel restrictions, which led to SAP Concur stabilising its sequential performance for the first time since the pandemic began.”

SAP Concur, the world’s leading brand for integrated travel, expense, and invoice management solutions, has around 46,000 customers in over 150 countries, including more than 75{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of Fortune 100 and 500 companies, and over 71 million end-users who book travel and manage expenses.

Recently, SAP’s expense management Software as a Service (SaaS) subsidiary has appointed Matthew Goss as Senior Vice President and General Manager for APJ and Greater China. Following his previous position as MD for SAP Concur Australia and New Zealand which he held for more than eight years, Goss will now be responsible for driving the growth of the business in the APJ and Greater China region.

Optimistic about his new role, Goss commented:

“The past year has made clear the pivotal role technology plays in enabling businesses to reset and re-calibrate for growth. As travel gears up again and firms move to optimise and expand their operations, opportunities to improve spend visibility, control and compliance abound. I am proud to be leading SAP Concur’s efforts to transform businesses in these areas during this exciting time.”

In his previous role, Goss significantly increased SAP Concur’s sales in Australia and New Zealand, as well as established the small and mid-market business (SMB) in the region. He has held several high-level positions across APAC at the subsidiary in addition to his tenure as ANZ MD.

Taking over from Laura Houldsworth, Goss will report to Chief Revenue Officer Doug Adamic in his new position. Commenting on the appointment, Adamic said:

“Goss has a stellar track record of success within SAP Concur and the industry. I have full confidence that under his leadership, our APAC team will continue to be our customers’ trusted partner as they manage employee spend and digitise travel, expense, and invoicing to become intelligent enterprises.”

Furthermore, Goss had earlier played a key role in the development of the Concur shared services center in the Philippines. He also held positions at Concur Technologies before it was acquired by SAP in 2014 as part of a major portfolio expansion and strategy to scale the platform to a wider customer base.

Last February, SAP Concur collaborated with MasterCard to provide customers in APAC the opportunity to improve payment visibility, optimise credit lines, and leverage data through industry-leading transaction solutions. The partnership aims to deliver an excellent customer experience by leading the alignment between commercial card providers and their clients.
