Multidisciplinary facilities management company, Global Facilities Management Sdn Bhd (GFM), has selected SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management to help streamline its resource allocation and management.
Based in Malaysia, GFM provides management services to building occupiers and owners to support their business needs, delivering against agreed service levels. The company needed a new system to replace its disparate legacy systems, as manual communication and analysis was impacting system performance and hindering the growth of the business.
With information scattered across multiple systems, manual reconciliation was needed before communication through email and cloud channels could be executed. These processes were causing problems in timely analysis by Finance, accurate value pricing in Marketing, efficient resource allocation in Human Resources, and real-time Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring in Operations.
Seeking to increase its efficiency, GFM engaged SAP Gold Channel Partner NEC Corporation to assist with implementing a new system that could provide consistent, timely and accurate information, and reduce total cost of ownership.
After an extensive evaluation, GFM selected SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management, and NEC will implement modules supporting Finance, Sales and Marketing, Procurement, Project Systems, Inventory and Human Resource Management.
Zainal Amir, executive director, GFM, said, “With SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management, together with NEC, GFM will be able to improve data and information accuracy, cutting out redundancy and reducing errors in manual operations. This will enable GFM to attain its digital transformation objective of serving more complex customers with the agility to respond quickly and more accurately as data is readily available.”
SAP Malaysia’s managing director, Terrence Yong, said that the solution will be able to empower GFM’s business users with insights to act “in the moment”.
“It is intelligent – going beyond automation to provide predictive suggestions. And it is integrated – not only among GFM’s various departments but also with the external business environment.
Today’s announcement builds on SAP’s commitment to enable strong, growing businesses that can seize the amazing opportunities of the digital economy,” he said.
“SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management is the reimagined suite of core business applications that can help customers begin their digital transformation journey. We are proud to be able to support GFM in their digital transformation journey to be ready for the upcoming digital economy,” added Yong.
The current implementation at GFM is targeted at the headquarter systems overseeing the core business operations. The future will see the integration and replacement of the multi-vendor operations Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) requirements.
