By migrating to an SAP cloud ERP solution with the assistance of SAP Partner HCL Technologies, aircraft technical solutions and support services provider SR Technics will be able to modernize its operations and lower its IT operating expenditures.

For almost twenty years, HCL Technologies has been SAP’s worldwide strategic partner. The Noida, India-based IT company engages with the German conglomerate on innovative technologies like SAP Leonardo, Blockchain, and SAP S4/HANA as a SAP service and license resale partner. HCL Technologies plans to assist businesses across several sectors in becoming intelligent enterprises with the support of its team of consultants throughout the Americas, Africa, Europe, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), and Asia-Pacific (APAC).

HCL Technologies initially showed its support for RISE with SAP, the Business Transformation as a Service (BTaaS) cloud service from German IT giant SAP, in March 2021. The company’s transformation and consulting services for SAP Factory+ solutions that enable SAP S/4HANA migrations, in addition to its modernized integration and data architectural services, are intended to improve the customer journey.

Furthermore, SAP and HCl Technologies have expanded their alliance to include the RISE with SAP solution, which will help customers scale and secure their cloud infrastructure as they grow. Strengthening their collaboration, the two organizations hope to enable customers in their digital transformation efforts by providing them with world-class products, services, and support.

Earlier this year, HCL Technologies also revealed that it had been recognized as a Leader in the Worldwide Supply Chain SAP Ecosystems Services 2021 Vendor Assessment published by IDC MarketScape. This position acknowledges the Indian company’s proficiency with SAP technologies, which it has used to aid other businesses in speeding up their own supply chain management (SCM) transformations, boosting productivity, enriching their customers’ experiences, and providing greater global visibility into inventory and financial impacts.

This month, HCL Technologies made public their signing of a multi-year deal with SR Technics, a renowned maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service provider in the civil aviation market, to digitally transform SR Technics’ core business processes. The global technology company will deploy RISE with SAP in an entirely new SAP S/4HANA system running in the Microsoft Azure cloud. SR Technics will be able to streamline its operations, update its application stack, and reduce its IT running expenses by making the transition to an SAP cloud ERP solution.

Pleased to know that SR Technics has selected SAP S/4HANA as its platform for future business expansion, Stefan Krauss, Senior Vice President (SVP) and General Manager of Discrete Industries and Energy & Natural Resources at SAP, stated:

“This is further demonstration of the unique value proposition of RISE with SAP in helping organizations transition core business processes to the cloud. Together with HCLTech, we have a best-in-class MRO offering for organizations needing to maintain complex, expensive and regulated assets.”

Rising with SAP Cloud ERP

SR Technics, which has its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, as well as offices in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East, offers extensive, fully customized solutions for aircraft engines, airframes, and components, as well as technical assistance, to more than 500 clients all over the world. Additionally, the company works with a wide-ranging network of partners and business development offices in the said regions.

According to the press release, SR Technics will install iMRO, which is an add-on for SAP that is designed specifically for the maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) business. This move is intended to enhance the company’s existing SAP cloud ERP solution deployment as well as its future business operations.

Specifically, iMRO is an intelligent and highly distinctive software solution for maintenance that seeks to improve both the overall visibility and the operational performance of a business. More than 50 clients all around the world are presently making use of iMRO, and SR Technics’ deployment — as per HCL Technologies’ statement — is the first on SAP S/4HANA to make use of RISE with SAP.

Explaining the SAP implementation project, Patrick Kuster, Senior Vice President (SVP) of IT and Executive Sponsor of the ReSeT Digital Transformation Program at SR Technics, shared that SR Technics’ ‘ReSeT’ initiative is built on the technological pillars of the company’s migration to SAP S/4HANA and adoption of iMRO, with the goals of simplifying business processes and improving service to clients. He further added:

“The combined SAP and HCLTech offering was the only solution that fully met our unique business requirements. It provides a future-proof technology foundation to optimize and grow our engines operations. HCLTech’s industry knowledge and SAP transformation expertise combined with its global and local delivery capabilities really stood out when it came to selecting our technology partner.”

Meanwhile, Pankaj Tagra, Corporate Vice President of Europe and Africa, at HCL Technologies, said that the integration of SAP is going to be the rocket fuel for SR Technics’ business transformation. He concluded:

“This contract highlights HCLTech’s strong partnership with SAP and our innovative product engineering capabilities. SR Technics works with many of the world’s major airlines and aerospace manufacturers, making this a significant engagement as we further grow our business in the DACH region and across the aviation sector globally.”
