Fujitsu and Microsoft collaborate on “human-centric” AI

Fujitsu Limited and Microsoft Corporation are collaborating to create innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions based on Microsoft 365, combining their individual AI technologies to accelerate the transformation of the ways people work.

The new solutions will combine the knowledge and experience Fujitsu has gained through internal and external deployments of its Global Communication Platform and its AI technology, Fujitsu Human Centric AI Zinrai, as well as through Microsoft AI platform services on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.

Following internal trials of the new solutions in several counties to further refine quality and deployment, the companies expect to make the new solutions available in Japan starting in Q2 2018, followed by a planned global release.

The new solutions will harness the big data generated through Microsoft 365 and aggregated through Microsoft Graph, Microsoft MyAnalytics, and Workplace Analytics to enable employees to focus more on high-value creative work. They will automate and streamline more routine tasks by combining Microsoft Cognitive Services and Microsoft Azure Bot Service with Fujitsu’s conversational AI technology and the Zinrai natural language analysis API.

The solutions will help overcome the challenges associated with corporate silos and, by combining Zinrai AI technology and Knowledge Graph, will enable organisations to determine the optimum human resources, insights and network.

In addition, they will enable organisations using Microsoft MyAnalytics and Workplace Analytics to visualise the ways individuals and teams work. Combined with Knowledge Graph and Fujitsu Laboratories-developed Deep Tensor machine learning, these solutions can determine the drivers of productivity and motivation in any workplace.

Beyond offering consulting services to increase deployment, the companies may also offer courses at the Fujitsu Digital Transformation Centre and the Microsoft Technology Centre, both located in Minato-ku, Tokyo. New customer development will concentrate on users of Office 365 and Microsoft 365, with an expectation of achieving US$2 billion in new business globally by 2020.
