Alibaba Cloud, the cloud arm of Alibaba Group, has announced that SAP is amongst the technology partners joining its Global Marketplace and AliLaunch program, designed to help international players to enter the Chinese market.
AliLaunch aims to assist technology partners overcoming common obstacles international companies expanding into China often come up against, such as scalability and technology compatibility. The program provides access to value-added offerings such as joint ventures, marketplace partnerships and wholesaling.
“The introduction of AliLaunch demonstrates Alibaba Cloud’s ongoing commitment of building a global cloud computing ecosystem, which connects SaaS developers and business partners from different countries on a unified platform.
“The AliLaunch program and Global Technology Partners Marketplace serve as the perfect platforms for making different software products accessible to businesses and organisations in China. We are aiming to build AliLaunch as the TMall of the cloud computing industry, with more technology partners added in the future,” said Sicheng Yu, vice president of Alibaba Group and general manager of Alibaba Cloud Global.
The AliLaunch program will serve as an online ‘store’ where enterprises in China will have access to different technology partners and can deploy software or services quickly and conveniently though Alibaba Cloud.
Other technology partners to join the program include SAP, SUSE, HERE, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), Check Point, AppScale, AppEx Networks, Haivision, Hillstone Networks, Wowza Media Systems, and TrueIDC.
