India’s largest integrated power company, Tata Power, has stepped into the digital world with the launch of a universal mobile application for its stakeholders, employees and consumers in Mumbai and Delhi.
The Tata Power Mobile App is designed to be an exclusive platform to help customers and stakeholder directly engage with the company.
Developed using the SAP Multichannel Foundation for Utilities solution, the app integrates in real-time with Tata Power’s SAP enterprise systems.
For consumers, the app provides features such as account overview, bill payment, meter reading details, monthly consumption trends, bill and payment history, notification alerts, zone outage and shutdown information and registration for e-services. It also includes one touch access to the customer care team.
Anil Sardana, chief executive officer and managing director, Tata Power, said, “As we are increasingly using smartphones to simplify our lives, the all-new Tata Power app will prove to be a great addition to improve our overall stakeholder experience. Introduction of the Tata Power app will provide benefits to the customers by giving them access to information, troubleshoot, get bill statements and even make payments on the move.
“Additionally, it will help us to tailor our offerings to customers, based on their usage, and we are committed to provide best in class customer service to them. We wish to remain a relevant part in India’s growth strategy, and reach new heights through constant innovation and excellent services.”
“Rapid technological advancement and increased penetration of smartphones have raised expectations from utility customers to deliver more services on mobile,” said Deb Deep Sengupta, managing director, SAP Indian Subcontinent. “I extend my congratulations to Tata Power in their continued endeavour to provide the best services to their consumers.”
The Tata Power app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and will soon be available on the Apple App Store.
