The SAP Concur travel expense system offers companies total visibility and consolidation of corporate travel data while empowering its employees to manage their own business travel on an end-to-end basis.

Travel and expense management provider SAP Concur has announced that Aeromexico, the flag carrier airline of Mexico, will be integrating SAP Concur solutions in a bid to expand its services to its customers.

Aeromexico joins the roster of major airlines that have established a strategic partnership with SAP Concur such as American Airlines, British Airways, Delta Airlines, Lufthansa, Philippines Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines to streamline the end-to-end airline distribution process, including providing business travel content to customers through intelligent travel expense solutions such as Concur TripLink. As part of the Concur TripLink network of connected suppliers, the Mexican flag carrier will now have the capacity to integrate its corporate customers’ direct supplier bookings into SAP Concur solutions– delivering enhanced visibility, control, and flexibility.

As a leading airline in Latin American aviation, Aeromexico offers an extensive network of destinations spanning the United States, Canada, Central America, South America, Asia, and Europe. As a founding member of the SkyTeam Airline Alliance alongside Delta, Korean Air, and Air France KLM, the airline company from Mexico is committed to providing passengers with a seamless, end-to-end travel experience.

Harnessing the SAP Concur Travel Expense System

The latest traffic results recently shared by Aeromexico reflect that air travel is ticking back up, and strongly, after the Omicron effect early this year. Just in May, Grupo Aeromexico transported more than 1.8 million passengers, a 38.7% year-on-year increase. Both international and domestic travel has also achieved double-digit growth last month at 75.4% and 27.9%, respectively. The airline company also expanded its fleet reaching 133 in May and aims to end up with 147 by year end.

The SAP Concur and Aeromexico alliance came at an opportune time when business travel rebound is gaining momentum and travel spending is inching closer to pre-pandemic figures. The SAP Concur Tavel expense system has been enabling organisations to integrate travel and expense processes and data to enhance employee spending, transaction visibility, and optimise policy compliance. Concur TripLink, in particular, offer travel managers a more comprehensive view and better control over travel programmes and spendings, such as Aeromexico itineraries and bookings regardless if they used the Concur Travel booking tool or booked directly with Aeromexico.

Concur TripLink streamlines the entire travel experience by leveraging its global network of travel partners, connecting trips and itineraries across multiple channels to ensure safety and deliver duty of care to travellers aside from increasing productivity.  Concur Travel and Concur Expense enhances the booking experience by automatically integrating itineraries, e-receipts, and even frequent traveller programmes back into the employee’s SAP Concur account. In addition, Concur TripLink customers will soon be able to earn rewards and exclusive offers when they connect their Aeromexico Club Premier account to their SAP Concur profile.

SAP Concur travel solutions have transformed many organisations across various industries into an intelligent enterprise by connecting them to travel suppliers, travel management companies, credit cards, vendors, mileage, and apps.

COVID-19 has an extensive impact in the travel industry, especially with the CDC’s report that travel increases your chance of getting and spreading the virus. SAP Concur’s recently commissioned survey on the impact of the pandemic on global business travel has also revealed travellers’ reservations and expectations from their companies in handling the crisis.

Today, many businesses, institutions, and even universities are now paying more attention to travel risk management programs to ensure health and safety of individuals and, consequently, secure business continuity amid this unpredictable global crisis. One of the organisations that have recently beefed up their travel risk management strategy is Terra Dotta, a leader in higher education travel, study abroad, and international program management solutions.

Improving Travel Experience

Terra Dotta partnered with SAP Concur to support higher education travel risk management by integrating SAP Concur Itinerary API to Terra Dotta’s platform. The integration will enable the delivery of comprehensive traveler location information from Concur Travel, Concur TripLink, TripIt from Concur, and Concur Request to Terra Dotta’s trusted Travel Registry solution and AlertTraveler mobile app.

Anthony Rotoli, CEO of Terra Dotta, stated:

“At Terra Dotta, our commitment to delivering enterprise-grade travel risk management solutions for the higher education community spans decades, and we’re thrilled to partner with the SAP Concur organization to bring our award-winning, comprehensive solutions to customer institutions.”

The collaboration also aims to broaden the client base of Terra Dotta across the U.S., Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region by expanding its language translation support for Travel Registry and AlertTraveler and developing new enhancements.

“As always, we will continue investing in our scalable technology to support inbound and outbound travelers’ needs across a domestic and global footprint throughout the higher education landscape and beyond,” he added.

Complementing Terra Dotta Solutions

Now that quarantine policies in cities and countries vary and constantly change, Terra Dotta and SAP’s collaboration happened at the most opportune time.

Terra Dotta’s cloud-based Travel Registry solution, which is a real-time travel risk management system capable of providing pre-travel briefings and notifications to affected students, faculty, and staff, as well as school administrators. Terra Dotta’s solution alerts the respective individuals when there is an itinerary change or critical incident nearby– whether on campus or overseas.

AlertTraveler, specifically, provides travellers regional alerts; quick-dial emergency services numbers, and a convenient mobile check-in button. With the help of Campus administrators who have direct access to travelers’ itineraries and GPS data, affected individuals can be located and are informed via institution-specific alerts wherever they are.

As for SAP Concur offerings, Concur Travel enables institutions to better manage travel, enforce policies, and control spend while TripIt by Concur manages travel itinerary including flight tracking.

Concur TripLink, with SAP Concur’s global network of connected suppliers and TripIt Pro app, allows institutions to recover outside bookings and travel managers get a complete view of spend and deliver on Duty of Care. Concur Request simplifies requests and approval, drive policy compliance, and control company spend.

More than 600 universities and colleges leverage Terra Dotta’s enterprise-grade cloud solutions and mobile app to automate and streamline all aspects of global collegiate travel and international student programs, including enrollment and delivery of real-time, GPS-driven communication to students and faculty. With the pandemic disrupting the world, the solutions’ capability to ensure compliance and risk mitigation for both domestic and international travel programs coupled with SAP Concur’s intelligent travel solutions is essential more than ever.
