In advance of the planned July 1st implementation of India’s GST Bill, SAP has launched GST in a Box, an all-inclusive solution created to help organisations not only to become compliant with the upcoming tax changes, but also to seize the opportunity to transform their businesses to thrive in the digital era.

In addition to helping organisations of all sizes in all industries to become tax compliant in the GST environment, GST in a Box will enable organisations to manage customer engagement and supply chains efficiently within the new tax system.

Part of the Grow with SAP campaign, with its emphasis on digitally transforming India’s small and medium enterprises, GST in a Box is just the latest step in SAP’s plan to help Indian organisations prepare for the new tax system.

GST in a Box builds on a series of education initiatives dating back to 2014, including an online resource centre, industry events, webinars, white papers, work groups and consulting notes. Estimating that 40 per cent of the 4-5 billion invoices uploaded each month run through an SAP system, SAP takes its role in assisting organisations to thrive in the new GST environment seriously.

“We believe GST is capable of generating a more stable source of revenue for the nation,” said Neeraj Athalye, head, S/4HANA & GST adoption drive, SAP India.

“To make this tax regime real-time, effective and transparent, businesses will have to go digital,” he emphasised.

SAP is embarking on a 21-city GST Health Check Drive to provide free evaluations of GST readiness and assist organisations in developing a transition plan. Starting in Mumbai, the two-month initiative will extend to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Kochi, Jaipur, Indore, Ludhiana, Bhubaneshwar, Surat, Nasik, Chandigarh, Aurangabad, Vizag and Rajkot.

SAP has partnered on the initiative with key industry partners including YASH Technologies, vCentric, itelligence, Fujitsu, Softwin, Infocus, Entune, Corporate Serve and SAVIC.
