PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya deploys SAP S/4HANA to simplify operations

Leading Indonesian food and renewable energy company, PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk., is implementing SAP S/4HANA to gain access to valuable real-time data insights that will enable them to increase productivity and to simplify and integrate their diverse business operations, including those in remote areas.

The company, which has operations in the palm oil and sago production industries as well as in geothermal and biogas power generation, turned to SAP for an integrated solution to help them overcome the challenges of operating diverse businesses with multiple processes, including many manual processes. Their operations suffered from inconsistent data which negatively impacted business decisions, operations and customer service.

The diversified company selected SAP based on its success with ERP implementations, the availability of real-time solutions that can be accessed in remote areas using a VSAT connection, and their track record of proven solutions in the plantation industry.

“Working with multiple offline applications and multiple databases was affecting our efficiency and productivity,” said Lucas Kurniawan, finance director, PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya.

“We believe that providing faster and more integrated services is one way to sustain customer loyalty and improve efficiency. That is why we consider a strong technology backbone highly essential. We felt that the end-to-end capability of SAP S/4HANA in supporting diversified businesses is the right choice for our rapidly growing business.”

The company now looks forward to benefiting from SAP S/4HANA’s ability to streamline its business operations, increasing efficiency and reducing manual operations. The company will also be leveraging the SAP solutions in the areas of financial accounting and controlling, materials management, production planning, sales and distribution, plant maintenance and project systems across the enterprise.

For this project, SAP worked closely with local partner, PT Wilmar Consultancy Services.
