SAP has opened what it describes as a “milestone open space centre”, the SAP Hybris Digital Innovation Space, at the Chengdu Tianfu Software Park in China.

The centre is designed to showcase SAP Hybris’ latest customer engagement and commerce technologies, as well as facilitate engagement between founders, web developers, engineers and others within the tech start-up community, with a view to encouraging them to combine their offerings with SAP products, platforms and innovations to meet increasing market demand in Greater China.

According to SAP, the SAP Hybris as a Service on SAPA HANA Cloud Platform may be of particular appeal to developers. As a microservices ecosystem to publish, discover, and consume business applications, it provides the opportunity for start-ups and developers to build and monetise services across channels and devices, as well as allow businesses to augment existing solutions such as SAP Hybris Commerce, SAP Hybris Marketing and others with a diverse range of apps.

“A growing number of companies are experiencing digital transformation, as customers increasingly purchase online and via their mobiles. Smarter use of digital skills and technology could boost China’s economic output,” said Dr Tim Bolte, SVP of development sales and service, SAP Hybris.

“Combining digital customer engagement with the unparalleled omnichannel commerce capabilities of SAP Hybris will drive strategic business growth in the Chinese market and beyond.”
