In September, HPE released a series of new cloud services for the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform, such as HPE GreenLake for analytics, HPE GreenLake for data protection, and HPE Edge-to-Cloud Adoption Framework and automation tools, to bring agility and efficiency to its customers’ digital transformation journey.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), a global, edge-to-cloud Platform-as-a-Service company, has been empowering organisations around the world to modernise their data environments faster and securely through the HPE GreenLake platform that delivers enhanced cloud experience across colocations, data centers, and edges. HPE GreenLake platform has been enabling enterprises across industries to innovate, scale-up and achieve agility– from modernising Mizuho Bank’s Cloud AI to powering Woolworths Group’s new Wpay payments platform.
In October, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), India’s leading energy supplier contributing an estimated 71{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of domestic oil and gas production, has also chosen the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform to back the company’s need for urgent digital transformation with minimal upfront investment to be able to fulfill its national production commitment amidst updated regulatory requirements and security protocols. Having one of the largest SAP implementations in the world, ONGC selected the HPE GreenLake platform to host its SAP S/4 HANA workloads in ONGC data centers in a bid to speed up digitalalisation, improve compliance and security, enhance performance, reduce transaction processing, and unlock insights harnessing advanced analytics.
Sharing about the innovaiton partnership with HPE, H.P Singh, Chief Information Officer at ONGC, said:
“At ONGC, we are driving improved process efficiency through information consolidation without compromising data security. HPE has been a trusted partner for a number of years, and through its strong partnership with SAP, we knew they had a deep understanding of our requirements. HPE GreenLake enables us to manage edge-to-cloud data from one platform and retain our mission-critical infrastructure within our own data centers, maintaining the best levels of security, which is crucial to our business.”
Modernising SAP S/4 HANA Environment Through HPE GreenLake Platform
Adopting the HPE GreenLake platform to run ONGC’s advanced SAP S/4HANA mission-critical environment was a natural progression for the energy company following its previous seamless experience with HPE GreenLake cloud services. To ensure maximum performance for SAP workloads, ONGC is utilising HPE Superdome Flex– a modular, highly flexible, and reliable platform– for real-time data processing, faster analytics, and fault-tolerant operations with in-memory computing.
HPE provided ONGC a pay-per-use model that could be implemented as needed without affecting security and availability when modernising its SAP workloads. In addition, for faster, more reliable connectivity and lesser network latency, the expanded HPE GreenLake agreement included a new deployment of Aruba networking solutions. ONGC will be working with HPE Pointnext Services, HPE’s unit that offers IT consultancy expertise, for the company’s current and future roadmap.
Som Satsangi, Managing Director, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, India, said that there is an increased demand for the HPE GreenLake platform as organisations aim to achieve the best cloud experience for their industry-critical workloads while ensuring security and flexibility in managing applications and data. The HPE GreenLake business, which includes a range of cloud services for SAP HANA, data protection, hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), and 5G among many, has reached over USD 5.2 billion in total contract value and 900 selling partners.
“Because our HPE GreenLake cloud services run on HPE technology solutions which have been perfectly tuned to run these different workloads, we can also deliver market-leading performance,” Satsangi highlighted.
HPE’s growing market footprint in the Asia Pacific region, specifically for its GreenLake as-a-service portfolio, has been recently reinforced with the strategic partnership with global distributor Tech Data to deliver the HPE GreenLake cloud services offering in Singapore and Hong Kong. HPE has also recently forged alliance with SAP Silver Partner Wiz Technologies (WIZTECH) centred on building a managed private hosting infrastructure for SAP Business One software workloads harnessing HPE’s cloud data services and new cloud-native data infrastructure HPE Alletra.
