As companies looking for ways to move their payroll processes away from on-premise systems to cloud-based solutions to better service distributed workforces, SAP has appointed HCM specialists EPI-USE and its sister company, EPI-USE Labs, alongside NGA Human Resources and Accenture, to provide a solution.
The announcement was made at last week’s SuccessConnect event.
The new managed service, to be known as SAP SuccessFactors Managed Payroll, will enable current SAP customers to have their on-premise SAP HCM Payroll solution hosted and managed in the cloud, without having to undertake a large-scale migration or reimplementation.
“Many of the complexities that come with managing a global or distributed workforce are effectively dealt with by taking payroll and human capital management to the cloud. One of the greatest assets of this particular development is that customers can make the journey to the cloud at their own pace and experience the benefits of efficiency and cost savings without the need for a large-scale, time-consuming migration,” said Phillip Stofberg, CEO, EPI-USE Labs.
“If you consider the vast majority of companies using the SAP platform have multinational operations, the pressure remains to gather data in real time for processing across multiple jurisdictions. Organisations need to consider the very real challenges of managing payroll and how cloud technology can address the evolving disconnects between data privacy, privacy, finance, HR, payroll and tax compliance.”
Other advantages of the service are that security and software patches for tax or legislative updates can be done without the need for on-site visits.
Security is undoubtedly a concern for customers looking at moving sensitive employee to the cloud, and EPI-USE Labs has recently achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification, completing its examination in conformity with SSAE 16 and ISEA 3402 Type I.
“Our focus going forward is not simply around payroll as a function, but ensuring that all the aspects of compliance, governance, control, reporting and analysis are properly underpinned with the right technology and processes. We are exceptionally proud to have been selected by SAP as a managed service provider for SuccessFactors Managed Payroll,” said Stofberg.
