Malaysian high tech manufacturer Alliance Contract Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (ACM) has completed an implementation of SAP S/4HANA Finance on the SAP HANA platform.
The project, which took six months in total, was undertaken by systems integrator Brightree Solutions Sdn Bhd.
ACM, which has its headquarters in Penang, manufactures precision machined components, motors, electromechanical assemblies, sheet metals and welded frames.
An SAP customer since 2002, the company was seeking to integrate its data across business areas to access information in real time, meet customer product specifications and delivery requirements, and create a niche in the global outsourcing arena.
The implementation of S/4HANA Finance integrated with the company’s existing software environment across its subsidiaries.
Erik Looi, ACM senior manager and head of IT, said the benefits have been broader than just finance, with every business function through the company’s value chain seeing a positive impact. Operations have been accelerated and latency periods have been reduced.
“Although we have only just completed this implementation, we are excited to expect a 20 per cent increase in procurement savings in the future, be provided with the ability to maintain a 30 per cent reduced inventory levels, and as a result, reduce uncollectible accounts receivable by up to 50 per cent,” Looi said.
ACM now plans to implement S/4HANA Enterprise Management at its overseas plants in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. It will also deploy the SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer solution to better serve its customers.
