SAP and Lenovo are deepening their existing joint agreement to work more closely together on initiatives including the development of cloud solutions in China, the creation of innovative solutions using SAP HANA and Lenovo systems and the execution of global go-to-market (GTM) programs.

The agreement will include showcasing jointly developed technology solutions in the Lenovo Enterprise Innovation Centres in Stuttgart, Germany; Morrisville, North Carolina; and Beijing, China.

Lenovo estimates that implementing SAP solutions has resulted in a 45x improvement in reporting performance and a 50x improvement in data loading. SAP uses Lenovo systems to power its own solution development environments as well as the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud service. SAP is recognised as the preferred ERP provider to Lenovo, which has implemented SAP enterprise solutions including the SAP Business Suite, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation and SAP HANA.

“Expanding our partnership with SAP provides a greater foundation to collaborate on new and innovative solutions to solve major challenges facing businesses today related to turning insights into action,” said Gerry Smith, executive vice president and chief operating officer, PC and enterprise business group, Lenovo.

“Together, we are bolstering the development of innovative cloud solutions for customers in China, and exploring new technologies based on SAP HANA and Lenovo systems that will help address the needs of the digital economy,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, executive vice president and head, Business Development and Strategic Ecosystem, SAP.
