SAP will expand its Philippines operations with a new office in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, to serve as the new hub of the SAP shared services team for Sales and Finance.
This office, which will be the third in the Philippines, will include a call centre to support sales requirements across Asia, and will double the staff strength by next year. In addition, the SAP shared services team will provide back office finance support for SAP companies globally.
Adaire Fox-Martin, president, SAP Asia Pacific Japan, said the investment will help to ensure the next 25 years are successful for SAP employees, customers and partners.
“Businesses in Asia Pacific Japan have vast potential for technology adoption in order to compete and win in the region’s vibrant economic landscape. We remain committed to helping organisations of all sizes benefit from both the simplicity of the cloud and breakthrough power of SAP HANA to run better,” Fox-Martin said.
With nearly 60 per cent of the employees in SAP Philippines belong to the millennial generation, the design of the new Ortigas office caters to these ‘digital natives’ and encourages collaboration and creative thinking.
“The young, vibrant workforce in the Philippines and Asia Pacific Japan is what keeps our plans for the region going. We strongly believe that by leveraging SAP Cloud powered by SAP HANA, our employees will continue to drive the innovation agenda with and for our customers and partners across the region,” Martin said.
Darren Rushworth, managing director of SAP Philippines, said that the announcement is an indicate of our long-term commitment to the country.
“We have created job opportunities for the country’s young population and continuously strengthened our partner ecosystem. Our customer portfolio comprises of businesses of all sizes and industries. It has been an exciting journey, to say the least,” Rushworth said.
“We believe that expanding our operations to another office in Ortigas is not only a sign of our journey in the Philippines so far, but also what the future promises – enhanced customer-centricity, a highly skilled and innovative team, and increased contribution to the ICT ecosystem in the Philippines.”
