The recent recognition by LinkedIn is a testament to the German enterprise software giant’s commitment to fostering an SAP workplace where diversity, inclusion, and growth are at the forefront of everything it does.

In today’s competitive job market, companies that prioritize the well-being and success of their employees will ultimately emerge as the winners. SAP’s workplace culture is a prime example of how investing in employees can drive business success while creating a positive impact on society as a whole.

SAP’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture goes beyond mere words. The company has implemented various programs and initiatives aimed at promoting equality, encouraging innovation, and empowering employees to achieve their full potential.

One such initiative is the SAP Autism at Work program, which seeks to recruit individuals on the autism spectrum and provide them with training and support to thrive in the workplace. SAP has also launched the One Billion Lives program, which leverages technology to create innovative solutions to social challenges.

In addition, SAP’s dedication to promoting employee well-being is reflected in its extensive health and wellness programs, which include mental health support, stress management resources, and healthy lifestyle initiatives.

SAP Workplace Gets Recognition from LinkedIn

LinkedIn’s recognition of SAP as a top workplace in multiple countries in Asia-Pacific (APAC), including Australia, Japan, Philippines, and Singapore, is proof of the company’s unwavering vision of creating a culture where employees are valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. SAP’s dedication to diversity, inclusion, and professional growth has created a workplace that fosters creativity, innovation, and collaboration.

SAP prioritizes creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that fosters innovation, creativity, and employee satisfaction while reducing attrition. The company has implemented various initiatives to ensure that its employees feel valued and supported, from fair pay and full transparency over salary bands to hiring practices that promote diversity. The Pledge to Flex initiative is one such program that encourages flexible work arrangements in an inclusive environment, enabling everyone to work, grow, and thrive in a way that fits their individual lifestyle and circumstances.

Being recognized as one of LinkedIn’s 2023 Top Companies in Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and Singapore also validates SAP’s commitment to gender parity and educational attainment. SAP leads the market in terms of female representation, with 35% of women in the workforce and 29% in management positions, according to the SAP 2022 Diversity & Inclusion Report released this month. The company’s long-term efforts to create a work culture that ensures equal opportunities for professional growth and advancement have been acknowledged by LinkedIn.

SAP values providing equal treatment to all employees, as demonstrated by the results of internal surveys. A remarkable 91% of employees feel that the workplace and culture ensure equal treatment for all. The company’s support for diversity, equity, and inclusion, coupled with its innovative workplace policies and practices, has made it a top workplace for professionals seeking to advance their careers.

Fostering a Positive Work Environment

LinkedIn’s Top Companies List 2023 recognizes SAP for more than just its commitment to diversity and inclusion. The company’s positive work environment and culture are also highlighted specifically its stability and affinity. SAP’s high employee retention rate is a testament to the company’s dedication to providing a workplace that supports and values its employees.

SAP empowers its employees to take control of their own career growth and development. With access to a vast array of learning tools and resources, employees can expand their skill set and knowledge base. Additionally, SAP’s extensive network provides endless opportunities for career progression. This, in turn, makes SAP an attractive place for individuals seeking to build a fulfilling career over the long term.

It’s no wonder that many employees choose to stay with SAP for many years. SAP’s focus on creating a positive and supportive work environment and providing opportunities for career growth and development ensures that employees feel valued and fulfilled. The company’s emphasis on stability and affinity further reinforces its commitment to fostering a culture where employees can build long-lasting, satisfying careers.

Inspired by a post-COVID world, Pledge to Flex is an SAP workplace program designed to ensure that employees around the globe can opt to work from home, remotely, or at the office. Recently, SAP Japan reviewed its HR regulations as part of the initiative to enable its staff to work autonomously.

The German enterprise software giant has been at the forefront of modern workplace transformation since the onset of the pandemic almost two years ago. Aside from enabling the growth and development of organisations, it has also focused on safeguarding the wellbeing, health, and safety of the workforce through intelligent technologies and continuous innovation. Additionally, SAP has long advocated for flexible working models for its over 100,000 employees — striving to adapt to the world of work in the new normal.

In a LinkedIn post, SAP APJ President Paul Marriott commended SAP employees’ strength and resilience in adjusting to the ever-evolving business environment despite a few pandemic surges hitting most countries across the region. He stressed:

“Into 2022, our success will continue to be defined by the spirit of our people.”

“That’s why initiatives like Pledge to Flex, allowing our people to work anywhere and anytime, as well as our new hybrid working spaces, are important to create inclusive, flexible, and more productive work environments,” Marriott detailed.

Implementing Pledge to Flex

In June of last year, the tech giant further reinforced its advocacy on remote working by implementing Pledge to Flex. The initiative is a 100{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} flexible and trust-based global framework tailored to support employees’ productivity, creativity, and passion while still operating the business ethically and fulfilling business requirements.

Moreover, the policy also reflects the surveys conducted by SAP which found that more than 80{aa282f308afcc222aaa21b0478c79e01a8fedd01972e2180867097bd93930f22} of its people prefer a combination of working from home or remotely with some time in the office. Pledge to Flex seeks to create an inclusive environment that allows employees to decide where they want to work, as well as build appealing office designs that promote collaboration, community, and focused work.

Demonstrating the company’s programs on hybrid working, the SAP Southeast Asia (SAP SEA) office in Singapore was transformed from being a traditional workplace into an open, activity-based environment. Unveiled in November last year, the project was aimed at catering to today’s changing workspace needs and bolstering the company’s commitment to empowering its employees for the future of work.

Reinforcing the SAP Workplace Initiative in Japan

Meanwhile, SAP Japan recently evaluated its HR policies to ensure that people can work freely and independently while maintaining strong motivation and good mental and physical health. (InsideSAP Asia often references articles from websites in other languages to bring you as much information as possible.) The company’s office in Osaka was also remodeled to make it more dynamic and capable of creating new value for partners, customers, and employees.

Based on three key concepts — location, time, and workspace — SAP Japan said that it will continue to offer teleworking to enable employees to carry out their responsibilities and duties from an offsite location other than the office. It was also indicated that the company will promote collaboration and results-oriented work styles, on top off introducing additional selective benefits services that suit each employee’s lifestyle.

“By combining the merits of face-to-face communication in the office with work styles that utilise telework, we will establish a hybrid work style and increase employee motivation and work efficiency,” the press release stated.

Furthermore, it was also mentioned that the offices of SAP Concur in the country will be merged and relocated in August this year to realise a flexible working model. Commenting on the overhaul, SAP Japan Co., Ltd. President and Representative Director Hirofumi Suzuki wrote in a LinkedIn post:

“We are also very much looking forward to the grand opening of our Tokyo office. We aim to enhance the performance of each employee, contribute to the success of customers.”
