SAP has released a new version of its financial services accelerator for the SAP Hybris Commerce solution to help banks and insurance companies offer their customers a faster, simpler and more personalised user experience whether conducting business online, on mobile devices or in person. At the same time, the accelerator is expected to streamline industry processes and increase ROI.

“Digitalisation has turned financial services on its head,” said Matthias Goehler, SAP Hybris senior vice president and head of Industries.

While the financial services industry has traditionally been based on in-person service and personal relationships, it has now devolved into an online search for the lowest cost options. But Goehler said SAP can help the industry engage price-conscious consumers if they provide the services when and how customers want them. This means providing customers with convenient access to real-time, personalised services based on their preferences as well as their history with the institution.

“The enhancements to the financial services accelerator provide organisations with the latest tools to deliver a great customer experience from which they can build customer trust and loyalty as they expand the relationship by bundling and cross-selling products,” said Goehler.

The new version provides a more intuitive, self-service retail-like experience for customers. It allows bankers and insurers to see the same information as their customers during online transactions, enabling real-time, personalised assistance to increase customer satisfaction and reduce application abandonment. The accelerator also enables customers to easily compare features and benefits of various products and services.

Templated application forms will allow the industry to quickly adapt to regulatory, product or other changes and to ensure that their customers always have access to the most current forms.

To deliver this fintech solution, SAP entered into a joint venture called msgNETCONOMY, with msg global solutions, a financial service product and solutions integrator and with NETCONOMY, an e-commerce specialist.

Responsive customer service is the key to delivering an excellent customer experience and retaining customers in Singapore, ahead of data privacy, transparency and personalisation, based on the findings of the SAP Hybris Consumer Insight survey.

The survey of more than 1000 consumers in Singapore revealed that it was the only market to rank responsiveness over privacy concerns, with 81 per cent reporting they will choose not to support a brand again based on unresponsive customer service, compared to 67 per cent who expect transparency from brands and will choose not to purchase from a brand again if their data has been used without their knowledge.

“True to the highly service-oriented market, our survey found responsive customer service to be Singaporeans’ top priority in the engagement with brands,” said Nicholas Kontopoulos, global vice president, fast growth markets marketing, SAP Hybris.

Speed of response is also important, with more than 40 per cent of Singapore respondents expecting brands to respond within three hours. The survey reveals that men at 44 per cent are slightly less tolerant than women at 39 per cent.

On the topic of privacy, the survey found that 63 per cent of Singapore respondents are comfortable with sharing their email addresses and 53 per cent with sharing their shopping history and preferences, but just 36 per cent approve of sharing their mobile numbers with brands.

Organisations must be cautious with the data they collect as 77 per cent of respondents said they expect brands to protect their interest when using their personal data, while 67 per cent cited the importance of transparency in data usage and 61 per cent cited the importance of ensuring customer privacy in the event of a criminal investigation.

As for practices to avoid, Kontopoulos said that “the top two don’ts for Singapore customers” are receiving too many direct marketing and sales calls at 64 per cent and irrelevant content at 47 per cent.

DocuSign has integrated SAP Signature Management by DocuSign into SAP Hybris Cloud for Sales to enable sales teams to accelerate the sales process by moving sales prospects through a completely digital sales cycle complete with audit trail.

The integration enables users to create and send documents requesting an electronic signature from right inside the SAP Hybris sales quote workspace, then to return and store the signed documents in the same workspace for an end-to-end digital transaction.

The integration enables SAP Hybris Cloud for Sales users to determine exactly where contracts and quotes are in the sales process and notifies each signer if a contract is amended or voided.

In addition, it provides a legally enforceable audit trail showing who signed what, when and where upon geo-location activation by the signer.

DocuSign eSignature eliminates the need to print and send important documents requiring signatures through the mail, enabling quote completion in minutes, on any device in any location, at any time.

The process ensures a high level of accuracy, routing documents to the right people, with built-in reminders and drag and drop tags for the customer to complete, in an effort to eliminate incomplete or not-in-good-order (NIGO) documents. If required, it is simple to add additional documents and signers.

“We are excited to continue our work with SAP with the integration into SAP Hybris Cloud for Sales,” said Mark Register, SVP business development and partnerships, DocuSign. “SAP Hybris customers can now benefit from SAP Signature Management by DocuSign in the same way that SAP Ariba and SAP SuccessFactors customers do.”

SAP has released its latest industry-specific accelerator for SAP Hybris Commerce, this time targeting the travel industry.

The solution aims to equip the industry to deal with drastic changes in the way consumers research and purchase travel.

“Today’s travellers increasingly use digital channels to research, buy, use and share travel experiences. They expect a seamless experience throughout their travel journey and across all touchpoint – offline and online,” said Brian Walker, chief strategy officer, SAP Hybris.

“Today’s travel companies need a solution that powers that, and SAP Hybris accelerators provide the industry-specific data model and core functionality needed for customers to deploy their travel industry projects, and – as in the case of the new commerce solution for travel – retail-like travel merchandising capabilities that meet contemporary travel business demands and help them grow their business,” Walker said.

The solution helps travel providers use real-time information to offer personalised customer experiences and to reinforce customer loyalty, by integrating digital and physical customer touchpoints into one platform.

Hoteliers, airlines, cruise and rail operators, car rental services and tour operators are all potential customers for the solution.

For example, airlines can integrate external content from partners like hotels, car rentals, insurance, ground transportation, events and activities with a single view of customer bookings, create packaged offers and bundled products by customer segment and through different channels such as mobile apps, kiosks and airport sales desks, and integrate existing back-office and revenue accounting.

Industry-specific accelerators for SAP Hybris Commerce are already available for telecommunications, financial services and media.
