UPG develops a wide range of products such as architecture paints, decorative paints, industrial paints, marine paints, protective coatings, wood coatings, and other painting-related products. They were previously facing challenges with ISO 2010 requirements and other supporting software, which was not working effectively.

UPG was seeking to gain better data accuracy, enhance its calculation of product cost and empower faster decision-making for the business with the implementation of the new system.

The implementation, which was conducted by FPT Information System with ACE Data Systems, has enabled UPG to integrate its current organisational structure, with all departments streamlined into a single process.

With the aid of the solution, UPG’s Board of Directors can now take a 360-degree view on stock data, direct expenses, cash flow and finances, giving the company control and standardisation in sales and purchasing. Having access to accurate data has enabled UPG to reduce the time required for manual data collection and to make timely decisions.

SAP Business All-In-One was implemented for the company’s head office, sales branches and trading subsidiary in Myanmar, eliminating the need for manual data re-entry between different functional areas, saving time and reducing errors.

The solution has helped UPG improve its financial management, accelerate financial closing, increase the accuracy of financial reporting, maintain superior cash management, and improve management of internal controls including documentation, assessment, and testing.

But Trieu Anh Tuan, deputy managing director, FPT ERP Services, said, “FPT received strong support from the UPG team during the implementation, especially from the project director, Aye Han. As this was the first big project of this type for a leading enterprise in Myanmar, there were many differences around business processes, working culture and language barrier. However, the two project teams have overcome the initial challenges, business process barriers and information technology infrastructure to go live a month early.”

The industry-specific solutions include FinancialsOne, ChemOne, CPGOne, ManufacturingOne, TechOne, ServicesOne and WholesaleOne. The packages were previously qualified to work on SAP HANA.

Customers with existing SAP software must first migrate from databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle to the SAP HANA platform, and YASH is enabling this via a rapid-deployment solution. The migration to S/4HANA can then be completed with a predefined scope and fixed cost by YASH.

With dual headquarters in the US and India, YASH is one of the largest independent SAP service providers globally, with 2200 SAP software consultants. The company joined the SAP Consulting Partner Program for North America in January this year.
