Multinational IT services and consulting company Atos is one of the pilot customers that have completed the transition of mission-critical applications to the cloud using RISE with SAP. The tech firm leverages the Business Transformation as a Service (BTaaS) offering — which brings together SAP cloud products, tools, and services — to accelerate customers’ digital transformation.

As a global leader in digital transformation and a pioneer in decarbonisation services, Atos is dedicated to delivering a secure and sustainable digital experience to its customers. Last June, Atos strengthened its 2028 goal of achieving net-zero emissions by introducing a portfolio of solutions aimed at helping businesses implement positive change to address climate and carbon challenges. Moreover, the capabilities are supported by the company’s Global Net Zero Transformation Center of Excellence and are distributed across nine locations in Europe, North America, and Asia.

Reinforcing its strong commitment to enabling the green economy with digital technologies, Atos recently announced that it has migrated from on-premise systems to the cloud to further reduce its own carbon footprint and make sure that it only uses the essential resources to run the business. The firm selected SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition as the platform to shift all of its 42 core processes across logistics, HR, finance, data analytics, and staff self-service portals.

Pleased to have executed the SAP upgrade project “in such a short timeline”, Frédéric Aubrière, Group CIO at Atos, shared:

“This ensures that we now have a strong foundation, bringing us speed, flexibility, and innovation, on which to build and accelerate our own digital transformation.”

Also expressing his delight at the expanded partnership, Brian Duffy, President of Cloud at SAP, stated:

“Thanks to a remarkable collaboration between our teams, we collectively delivered on plans within a nine-month period enabling Atos to further develop its competitive edge and benefit from SAP’s comprehensive, intelligent, customer-centric offering to unlock future opportunities for growth.”

Leveraging SAP Cloud Products for Digital Transformation

Embedded in the German tech giant’s BTaaS offering RISE with SAP, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition is critical to SAP’s cloud strategy in giving clients the flexibility to maintain or convert existing SAP landscapes and move to the cloud in their own timeframe. As one of the very first enterprises to complete this transition, the successful implementation of the solution covered the whole operations of Atos throughout 71 countries.

Now supported by SAP’s advanced cloud services and business processes, Atos will be able to:

  • Modernise processes and standardise operations to ensure the IT departments can focus on tasks centered on innovation and projects that provide value to the company.
  • Fast-track digital transformation and build new solutions by leveraging and optimising predictive analytics, blockchain, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI).

“The benefits are clear — not only in terms of streamlined operations, cost optimisation, and resource redeployment meaning we can be more focused on our clients and continue to drive forward our industry-tailored approach, but also in terms of decarbonisation and meeting our carbon objectives,” Aubrière highlighted.

Delivering RISE with SAP to Customers

Moreover, it is worth noting that Atos has been a strategic partner to SAP for more than 35 years now. Certified as a global SAP Platinum Partner, SAP Partner Managed Cloud, and global value-added reseller, the France-based IT services provider has contributed to the deployment of solutions such as SAP HANA, SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and Supply Chain Management (SCM) for businesses.

Today, the two companies’ long-standing alliance goes a step further in exploring go-to-market initiatives that would assist organisations in advancing their cloud capabilities while ensuring scalability and security. Atos’ recent implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition in its own operations will enable the company to share firsthand experiences, best practices, and benefits with its customers.

True to its strategic partnership with SAP in driving business transformation, Atos also launched the Atos OneCloud program this year to support the RISE with SAP offering and further help enterprises expedite their migration to the cloud through application transformation expertise, consulting services, and cloud accelerators.
